"The service was dumb and it was Easter. The "pastor" from Bangladesh or wherever had nothing to say about Jesus or any biblical principles or brought is into the heart of god. Since this is a Christian superbowl, you'd think the service would be very special and powerful. Maybe i haven't been to enough services through the years. They just mailed it in. These Catholic churches in Astoria are such a letdown and sometimes even despicable. Very odd."
"In the presence of a modern Pharisee, self-righteous and imposing a burdensome yoke, this church is certainly led by one. Gifted with a singing voice, Fr. Saša is deceivingly persuasive. He is judgmental and confrontationsl. I do miss long time Croatian priest, Fr Vendran. Sadly wont be going here and will opt for more welcoming churches like Mt Carmel and Immaculate."
"An eclectic style of decoration on this church- very restrained and beautiful. There is parking and it is handicap accessible. The mass was in English and the community was varied, playful and reverent. I chose it for the mass time - it fit my schedule and was accessible via public transportation."
"Beautiful space! We had our wedding here during the pandemic and the church live streamed the ceremony to our family back at home. Everyone involved was very helpful and made us feel at home."
"I grew up in MPB during the eighties and was in the attached school from kindergarten to eighth grade. During that time, the church had a major renovation that cost quite a bit. With all that said, it hasn't changed much. The water damage on the left side of the altar has been there for half a century. Please find that leak. :) I recently held a memorial mass for my late mother there. I'm grateful they could give my mom the send-off she wanted, in the parish that was her family for so many years."
