Reviews of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
"I am extremely disappointed with how misleading these negative reviews are. They are completely misleading and paint the camp in a bad light. These reviews were left two years ago and I stopped being the director 3 years ago. I will not stoop down to Brian and Blaire's level and talk bad about them, but I will make clear that none of them voiced this displeasure with me during their time with the camp. I'm very disappointed that adults would resort to slander to get their point across."
"It was a terrible *summer camp* experience. We were out in the hot, where people suffered from asthmatic attacks. I have had many injuries happen there, and all that was done was some ice. Not even a call home. The camp director always found a reason to be angry, and the counselors and campers felt scared. (especially the women counselers.) It was horrible and I would only recommend the Church. I hope this stops people from choosing holy Trinity."
"As a young boy in the 60's this was my family's church. The congregation was started a short time after the turn of the century by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in another location, and moved to the Glenwood Avenue location later. I remember the beautiful sound our congregation made singing together in that beautiful Chancel! Sunday services were at 8AM and 11AM, and always drew hundreds of worshipers. First Lutheran, as it was known then, was closely related to Upsala College a few blocks away, and we had many professors and students attend church and take part in our social outreach and youth organizations. My mother was responsible for washing and repairing the alter vestments, she also prepared and polished all of the Holy Communion trays and vessels. My father and a few other members painted the church interior a number of times from scaffolding. (Kind of scary as a kid watching your Dad painting the walls so high up!) I was Confirmed in this church, and my sister was married there. As a boy, I always attended Vacation Bible School for a couple of weeks each summer. It was just an amazing place to learn about God and everything He has given us. My brother-in-law, Frank Scudese's construction company, built the educational unit attached to the rear of the church in the late 60's or early 70's. Many things changed when the Vietnam war happened... to me and to thousands of other young men. My family moved far away, and East Orange became a loving memory. Still, there are so many wonderful memories attached to this church for me! I pray that God has strengthened and blessed this congregation and continues to hold them in in the palm of his caring hands! - Ken Johnson East Greenville, Pa."
"A wonderful house of worship"
"Their efforts to help the youth with after school programs can not go unnoticed. While I haven't attended church service here, I do acknowledge their after school programs"
