About the Business
Welcome to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, a world-renowned museum and premier tourist attraction located at 1000 5th Avenue in the heart of Manhattan, New York. Immerse yourself in a rich tapestry of art and culture, where every visit promises new discoveries and timeless beauty.
Currently, visitors can explore the enchanting "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" exhibition. Please note that upon arrival, you must join the virtual exhibition queue. Due to high demand, the queue may close early if capacity is reached, so plan your visit accordingly.
The Met is also excited to announce a significant milestone in the redesign of its Galleries for Modern and Contemporary Art. Under the visionary leadership of Director and CEO Max Hollein, the museum is moving forward with the renovation plans for the new Oscar L. and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Wing. This project is particularly historic as it marks the first time in the museum's 154-year history that a woman, architect Frida Escobedo, is designing a wing.
For those intrigued by the intersection of personal artifacts and art, our latest podcast episode explores what happens when intimate possessions find their place in art museums.
Met Members enjoy a plethora of exclusive benefits, such as free guest passes and Member Preview Days for new exhibitions, all while supporting the museum's mission. Additionally, explore our latest merchandise, including newly launched iPhone cases and power pods from our exciting collaboration with Casely.

"I'm not posting many pictures out of respect for the museum, but it was truly an experience! The Greek, Egyptian, and medieval exhibitions are incredible! We spent the whole day in those sections, and there's so much more to see! I'll have to come back to NYC to explore everything else. Really a great museum!"
"A fantastic experience as always . The MET has a great array of artifacts and exhibits from ancient Egyptian artifacts to post-modernal art. It's a must during any visit and even an opportunity for locals . Admission fees are reasonable and there was no line to get in. Expect to be in here for at least 4 hours, otherwise you may not have the opportunity to experience what the MET has to fully offer . The information desk was very helpful. They have wheelchairs and other accessibility aids available if needed . The cafeteria was standard, expect overpriced items. The terrace allowed us to experience a stunning view, and I found navigating through the museum to be easy. Will be visiting again !"
"This museum is huge. My daughter and I enjoyed ourselves, but she especially like the ensemble of dresses. you’re definitely going to need to go here 2 to 3 times in order to see everything available. If you’re a Bank of America account holder for New York City resident depending on when you go. It’s pretty much free."
"I've been visiting this museum for many years. It's fairly large in scale, and takes time to fully explore. Then of course some collections are rotated out. Be sure to check their website to confirm limited time events so you can plan accordingly. If you're new to the city, or a current resident curious about the museum scene, this should be one of the top 3 stops. Can't think of any reason not to visit."
"One of the best museums! It's so easy to spend an entire day looking through the incredibly beautiful art at the MET. It was fairly crowded, even though it was a weekday, but it didn't change the experience at all. The museum is very spacious and has so many different exhibits. Definitely buy tickets in advance. Absolutely a must visit :)"
