"Echoing the poster below me. It is daily engine-revving and music-blasting at 4:15am, and 12:15pm. My entire family is woken up daily, and my 2 year old son is terrified. It takes over an hour to settle him down. We have invested in white noise machines, noise cancelling headphones, and fans and live on a high floor, yet it is still loud enough to wake us. We have called 311, the police and my husband has spoken to the supervisor at this garage, and the noise continues. The bike is black with some sort of shield on the front, license plate 58AH, with a blue tag with the number 25. PLEASE if you know this person or are this person, we are begging you to stop. You are hurting an innocent child and it as his mother it is breaking my heart to see him cry, have his peaceful sleep disrupted, his schedule thrown off, and his mood be sleepy and cranky in the daytime just bc what? Someone wants to sound “cool” in the middle of the night? I have lived in NYC for 16 years and have NEVER made a noise complaint. We hear motorcycles all the time in the morning, at bedtime, whose noise-levels are perfectly acceptable. We even like motorcycles a lot and are in no way trying to tell people how to live their lives, just please stop ruining ours. The noise from this bike is egregious, unnecessary, inappropriate at 4:15am, terrifying a small child daily, and seriously dispiriting the lives of a young family. Again, if you are this person or know this person we are BEGGING you to stop for the health of our child. UPDATE: After speaking to the officer workers, the ruckus stopped within a couple days. THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE, you are our heroes! Cannot contain the gratitude from my family to yours!"
"the upper floor of this decrepit building holds a secret, the nyc trash museum. curated by a hoarder (how cruel it must be to be a hoarder working for the department of sanitation), there's rows upon rows of strange finds, arranged thematically. you have the obligatory creepy dolls section, but also beer steins, bad art, motivational posters, appliances, and so much more. you could easily imagine this as the backdrop for a MGMT music video."
"Despite working out of condemned building this garage does it’s job above and beyond. They have very little help on repairing this building because other sanitation garages takes precedence over it. The guys here are still one of the best I have seen at getting the garbage off the street and plowing street during storms. If the neighborhood would be respectful enough to stay off the road when plowing and park unselfishly then I am sure this garage will have an even more productive fight during storms."
"This Sanitation Dept. is the worst! You have to call them to come and clean the streets! East 131 Street between Lexington and Park Ave.SHAME ON YOU!"
