"I went to St. Ann School and Church in the sixties, all Nuns who were strict and sometimes not so nice, but still good times and I do miss those days, I was baptized and made my commune and confirmation there , so I miss my friends and playing in the playground we all had fun. My name is Christine Termini my married name is Menniti, both my brothers went there to."
"I still have nightmares about this place…. I wonder if they still have the “parish” attached to the school… past the playground…. This was my childhood school, childhood church, my mom still apologizes for the crippling dark memories I hold. Even speaking to friends that im still in touch with, from all ages, older to younger friends. We all feel the same…The level of abuse we took as children was way past a level of normalcy, all of us have taken different paths in life, we all joke and wonder if it’s due to the trauma this school caused one another, some friends no longer living even, and I’m young. I went there during Sister Josephine’s Era…. I just find it quite funny how the history seems erased or kept under a tight lock and key…. The documentation is not accessible at all, yet remembering how they documented/photographed us so much? No real photos of the grounds, they keep this place well tight and secretive. Be careful with your kids is all I’m saying."
"I was baptized at that church, and went to their school. Great Education, strict, and taught by Nuns, who made you walk a straight line."
"My finance and I went to this church to inquire about what was needed to get married and we were told we would have to drop off our proof of sacraments in order to even get to speak with the Father Vijay. We were given an appointment and the first thing he said to us was “I don’t know you.” He told us we would have to be members of the church and we can’t just walk in and tell the church what to do. Which didn’t make sense because we were there to find out what was needed from us. He judged us immediately and treated us like we were good for nothing. We are willing to do whatever was needed to be official members but he was dismissive because we didn’t already know him. Instead of informing us he was so aggressive and disgusted by us. He said any church that would marry us just wants the money which was highly uncalled for. He treated us like degenerates when all we did was meet with him to find out what we needed to do. We hope to raise our future children in the church and as an introductory meeting it was a nightmare. I’m saddened and humiliated by the way he treated us, he was hostile the second we walked into his office. It was such a disheartening experience, but we won’t give up we will find another church to join and get married. The whole meeting lasted five minutes tops before he gave us back the copies of my sacraments and sent us on our way. If you’re going to get married here make sure you know the Father Vijay and that he has some kind of rapport with you because no couple deserves the rudeness, anger and hostility we received. He is a really mean and unhappy character I’m not saying he will be that to everyone but please know your stuff if you’re going to him because he didn’t have any patience for us. It was such a horrible experience."
"I went to st Ann's Church on Monday 4/17/2017 to see if I could visit the church and take pictures of the place my grandparents were married on April 15 1915. I had no appointment and just knocked on the door. The women answered the door and when I explained why I was there and showed her my grandparents marriage certificate she Was so helpful and welcoming she let me & my family in and turned on the lights. She showed us around . We talked about the church .Then another lovely lady that spoke Italian and could read the certificate that was in Italian was just as helpful. I am so sorry I didn't get their names but I thank them from the bottom of my heart. It was a wonderful experience I am so grateful for."
