Reviews of The Salvation Army Manhattan Citadel Corps Community Center
"Everything in Harlem is going down the drain if it didn’t make it there already. I literally spoke to someone at the Salvation Army yesterday while I was at work and they informed me that I could still drop clothes off and the drop off ends at 7 pm. I told her that’s great. I’ll be there tomorrow morning because online it says that you close at four, but I already took the day off so that I could do this. She was rude anyway but fine. It’s not for her. It’s for the community I get here and it’s closed And it has a sign that says they’re no longer taking donations. Well are you taking them or are you not? Informing me that you’ll be closed on the day that I’m telling you I’m going to come would’ve been a decent thing to do but people aren’t decent these days which is unbelievable considering your working or volunteering for organization to help people."
"The salvation army Manhattan soup kitchen location is terrible. The people who are in the line is mentally unaware. & the food is very dirty. I won't be Tolerate with these types of mentally ill people. I won't recommend this soup kitchen place. In Harlem."
"Church service on Sundays start at 11am. Service is translated in Spanish and the IDD population are welcomed."
"I am a donor of The Salvation Army and I am appalled at the money invested in this building . I found out it is not used for living quarters for the people for whom The Salvation Army works with. I called and was informed the building is a church. If is a church I think this organization lost its soul. We don’t need a fancy place to worship God. The reason why I chose this organization was because the CEO did not have a large salary and claimed most of the money went to the programs. I am beginning to change my mind."
"The person who answered the phone was informative about present changes due to pandemic/ they're no longer accepting clothes donations at HIS location 137th Lennox Ave. He stayed on the phone with me unrushed n offered alternatives. Pleasant employee!!!"
