"My favorite spot to stop by whenever I'm in Boro Park. I usually find at least one sefer from what our family calls the dollar table. Last time there I bought a beautifully bound set of chamushim for just $10."
"For those unfamiliar with this store it's a Shaimos store. Shaimos is sacred books and articles that have been discarded and according to Jewish law need to be buried. However, many times books in good condition are thrown out. The owner of this store charges people and institutions to collect their Shaimos (sacred waste) and discard them respectfully. When he find books in good condition he sells them at a discounted rate in this store. I was in the store once, considering that he is making 100% profit on top of having charged people to take this stuff, I was surprised that the prices were relatively high. I was also treated with contempt when he found out that I couldn't afford the price he was asking for the books I wanted. I get that he has to cover bills for renting the place and other expenses including the cost of burying other Shaimos (sacred waste) which is probably not covered by what he charges for taking it, yet, I still think he charges more than necessary for some of the books. I gave this store two stars because they really have a nice big selection for cheaper than retail prices for books that Amazon would call "Used - like new". I would go again only because there are a few books that are no longer in print that if there's any chance of finding it's there. Just for useful info, there is no way he'll refund anything. he's trying to get rid of what he has and has no interest in taking anything back. Before you buy any book, give a thorough look, or you will be throwing out at least $10."
