About the Business
Welcome to the Brooklyn Public Library - Brower Park Branch at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, located at 155 Brooklyn Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11213. Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Crown Heights, our library is a cornerstone of cultural and educational resources for the community. Named after George V. Brower, a notable Brooklyn Park Commissioner and advocate for urban greenery, our branch continues his legacy by serving as a lively hub for learning and engagement.
Our unique partnership with the Brooklyn Children's Museum introduces an innovative cultural resource to families in Central Brooklyn, ensuring the presence of a public library in the neighborhood for generations to come. At Brower Park Library, you can borrow up to three tools at a time from our Greenpoint Library collection and access museum passes to over 80 cultural institutions. We also offer a comprehensive guide to resources for genealogical research, making it easier than ever to explore your family history.
The library thrives on community involvement, and we welcome you to join the Friends of Brower Park Library. This group of dedicated volunteers plays a crucial role in advocacy, fundraising, and promotion, helping to keep our library a vibrant and vital cultural and civic center for everyone. If you're interested in becoming a Friend, speak with a staff member, email [email protected], or attend one of our scheduled meetings.
Our library is particularly popular with children, providing a safe and enriching environment after school and during the summer months. We invite you to visit and experience all that Brower Park Library has to offer. Join us in our Community Room for upcoming events and engage with a community that values knowledge, culture, and growth. We look forward to welcoming you!

"There needs to be some policy about kids yelling and screaming nonstop. Not expecting a quiet place for myself as it is a public space but that should also mean that caregivers need to mind their kids so other people can also can enjoy the space/use for their needs. I was in a meeting room for 2 ish hours and it felt like being in the middle of a jungle gym."
"If you have children and you need to go t a library, this is the best: it's inside the Children Brooklyn Museum! And their children section has a glass window overlooking the Science Area of the museum. And in this library, you can borrow laptops, or reserve a study/meeting room."
"It's a small library which is where I love it. It's new, neat, quiet, the librarians are so nice. I usually pick up my holds from there, but I've been able to browse their selection before and even though it's a small library, they have a nice selection. It is also very conveniently located near the Brooklyn children's museum so after a trip to the museum we took a trip to the library where the kids got to take home two books. Added an extra special thing to our trip."
"My daughter loves this library she goes here all the time. Every time we go here It is always VERY clean and VERY quiet. We love the space they have for returning books. If you want a quiet place to read/ do work definitely come here!"
