"Don't come here. I went with my son. They didn't want to give me a library card because I lived in Brooklyn. The staff are rude. They act like there library is a 5 star hotel. I couldn't even read a book. Not to mention the bad neighborhood. Don't come"
"If you need to study in a quiet place, this is not the library for you. Patrons take phone calls, remain on phone calls, have conversations at normal levels... Might as well have a book club meeting here. Staff is nice though."
"I recently had the opportunity to visit the Richmond Hill Public Library for the first time, and I wanted to share my thoughts and observations. First and foremost, I was impressed with the overall cleanliness and ambiance of the library. It is undoubtedly a well-maintained and welcoming space that fosters a positive environment for reading and studying. However, I would like to bring to your attention a concern I encountered during my visit β the noise level. While I understand that the children's area may naturally be a bit lively, I found the noise from the elderly patrons and staff at the front to be quite disruptive. It felt as if I was in a public space, such as a mall or fish market, rather than a library. I believe that maintaining a quiet and peaceful atmosphere is crucial for the library's patrons, especially those who visit seeking a tranquil space for reading and studying. I kindly suggest addressing the noise concerns in a respectful manner, perhaps by reminding patrons and staff about the importance of maintaining a library-appropriate noise level. I appreciate the efforts of the library staff in creating a positive environment, and I hope that this feedback will contribute to further enhancing the overall experience for all visitors. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to future visits to the Richmond Hill Public Library. Kamal N Sharma"
"Clean. Quiet. Helpful, friendly staff. I like the outdoor seats and tables in front of the library as well."
"Like most Queens Public library branches this location is clean, bright and well lit. With a library card you get 20 free pages printed daily. Services include free internet,(with desks and power outlets for your laptop), books to reference or borrow, kids and teens, and an active community room! You can also warm up here in the winter. Street parking is available. Plus wheelchair access."
