Reviews
"Finding this plaque was very satisfying. I enjoyed it, despite the two little errors on the plaque. First, it says "National Baseball League" where it should say simply "National League". More important, it lists 1904 amongst the Giants' world championship years, when in fact the Giants refused to play the World Series that year on account of manager John McGraw's and owner John Brush's disdain for American League founder Ban Johnson. The history of the Giants and sometimes overshadowed by that of the Dodgers. But the Giants were the premier sports team in all of the U.S. until the Yankees eclipsed them upon the arrival of Babe Ruth. Even still, the Giants remained amongst baseball's top clubs through the 1930s."
"History. A homage and a reminder that 1/3 of the golden era of baseball here in NYC emanated here in Harlem. A franchise that was beloved here in Harlem and NYC before they departed to san Francisco after the 1957 season (along with the Brooklyn Dodgers who also went west to Los Angeles) RIP Willie Mays, Thank you New York Baseball Giants Club"
"Glad I went to see it. Not in a great area I would recommend to go only during the day. I had no issues though and was glad to get the picture as a diehard baseball fan."
"Worth visiting once if you're a baseball fan. Not far from Yankee Stadium so maybe the same day you go to a game."
"A must for baseball fans and historians. If you make the trip, be sure to take a peek in the management office for a series of photos featuring Willie Mays at the original unveiling of the plaque that marked the approximate position of home plate."
