"The railroad right of way has been converted to a great hiking trail that's easily accessed from the walking path behind the Robert J. O'Toole Community Center. Overbrook Station itself itself is gone, but in a small clearing in the woods, you can see the concrete base where it once stood. There are also lots of old railroad ties that have been reclaimed by nature, and a random concrete piling that was likely part of the pathology building, which stood next to the station. The "JC 19" sign marks the number of miles from Jersey City, where the Erie's Caldwell branch began."
"The Erie Railroad Caldwell Brach ran from Little Falls through Cedar Grove, Verona, and terminating in Essex Fells. A station was built around 1891 to service Overbrook Asylum later Essex County Hospital. It’s not clear if anything remains of the station since recent nearby construction leveling the hospital to build housing has significantly altered the landscape. This location is a best approximation based on overlaying historic and current maps."
