Reviews
"My experience is solely based on ordering books online. I've ordered books several times through the site and have gotten them all. The one time I had a problem with not receiving my order, I did get quick and empathic customer service. It took even longer to get the books but I got them! I am especially happy to know that my purchases are going to help support black owned bookstores! I order my books through here as long as they have them and sidestep Amazon"
"This is not a bookstore. This is a coffee shop that sometimes hosts book related events. Do not come here expecting to buy books."
"An evening of Inspiration. Booksigning of Unbound with Verlaine Diane-Soobroydoo @verlainediane of @dreamzahara this evening hosted by @huemanbooks in @groundcentral Midtown. #Independentbooks #books #BlackOwned #WomensHistoryMonth #huemanbooks #nyc 1 Huemanbooks Zahara's Dream Inc."
"I miss this place. I had only been there twice when I was a kid because an old family friend used to work at the establishment. My Harry Potter collection came from there as well as my Dictionary of Ancient Egypt. That bookstore will always have sentimental value to me because of him."
"There are so many cultural spots in Harlem and Hue-mans is one to point out. It' so important for the community. I came here for the book signing of "The Sexy Part Of The Bible" by controversial author Kola Boof. The environment was positive, progressive and political, which I loved. The place seems to bring about and connect all types of nationalities around relevant social issues. So it's more than just a bookstore. I did have a soup from the small eatery there but the events and the collection of cultural books is what stood out the most."
