Ridgefield Park station

"Ridgefeild Park is one of my favorite places to see freight trains. I recommend going because there are times trains run almost every 20-45 minutes at the station, and they go fairly slow so you can snap a few photos of them passing by. You also don’t have one but TWO railroads that run through the area both being CSX and The New York Susquehanna Railroad. The place has a unique bend at the west side of the station where you can get great photos of CSX trains rounding it, there also times they stop in front of you as well to back into the yard further down the track. You can even chill in your car if it’s too cold or hot outside when your there since parking is right in front of the station. It has its cons though. There are sometimes days when it takes hours for trains to come through, the railroad crossings often malfunction tricking you when there is one coming, and there is not a bathroom nearby. If you need to go your gonna have to go to a nearby place. Ridgefeild Park is mostly busy with trains on SUNDAYS during the week they run less often."

"This is a very old historic train station Passenger trains don’t run on this line as far as I know but CSX freight trains frequently run on this line the trains are huge and usually have over 100 cars it is really nice to see these freight trains some of them are also covered in graffiti which makes them even cooler looking"

"Only trains stopping here are in emergency or struck a vehicle. Good place to watch trains. Wear water proof clothes, The foam can flow pretty good at times."
