"Today is Aug 8.2024. I try to read a newspaper by the closer table from the newspaper section. There was a bag on side of table but no person. One woman who is sitting at the table alone said “it is taken” so I asked her what about other chair with a bag and no person. I asked her to take her bag if it is hers, so I can seat. At first she just ignored me. So I asked her again. But she refused to remove her bag from other chair and said “don’t touch my bag, I will call a police, are you trying to fight, find other chair and table” I was so upset by her selfish wording. So I told we her “a chair is for a person not for a bag in this public place. You are taking two chairs (one for her sitting and one for her bag sitting) it is selfish” act. she is doing this because she can have more control the table space where she is sitting for herself. So this turns into an arguing about the public manner. The Librarian “Chris” and other male librarian came and both librarians allow her to be a selfish and let her keep the whole table and two chairs (one for her and another for HER BAG!!!) In stead to tell her to follow the common sense. Chris asked me to follow her like I am a trouble maker. But I followed Chris and other male librarian because I want to find how do they runs this library to down stairs. Chris let this wicked and selfish space hoarder woman as a winner and she will do this evil act again and again against innocent people who visit library. In the downstairs. I asked Chris, “don’t you have a rule for this?” Chris said “No, I’ve don’t have specific rule for that. I can find other chair for you” what she is saying is there are other chairs and don’t make a problem!!! Amazing!! so I asked Chris again in order to make sure that this library doesn’t run by common sense because of there is no rule. The public managers are trash even if this library is a public place. “ since you allow her doing that, if I do the exact same evil selfish act to other innocent people who simply wants to seat and study, you will ask the innocent person to find chairs from other space just this?” Amazingly Chris said “YES” so I want to let people who have a public manager and be considered for other “ You Don’t need to be a good person anymore in this library at all. You can be a selfish space hoarder in this library!! Take as much chairs and make yourself at home. It is totally allowed by the two librarians today and I confirmed it as if Aug 8, 2024. This library makes your good heart as a trash. So don’t be considerate, and you can turn into a selfish person in this library. This is what Chris and other male librarian are teaching at this library. Don’t get hurt yourself if you read my review. If library doesn’t have a specific rule for sharing chairs. Then the librarian must have a common sense. Now days normal and common sense are not normal at all like today, because Chris’s work ethic is don’t make a problem. As long as there are no problems, it won’t be matter whether people are being rude and selfish against others. When the librarian fails to protect the public interest in public place while she is earning her salary is not right. Im sure there are millions people who can do the better job than what she did today. It is waste of tax payers money to keep a person who have no common sense. I’m openly writing this, if anyone who knows this is so wrong and wants to change the library rule, you can contact me. Or I need to attend the county tax allocation meeting. If this doesn’t fixed, this library must receive less tax benefits."
"At the children’s section, two librarians were loudly chatting with each other about games etc, totally ignoring the reader, myself and my son included. If people work there don’t respect the library protocol, please work somewhere else. One of them is a guy with glasses and black/ mid length curly hair. The others one is a young white girl with glasses and short curly hair."
"The best library in the whole world!!!! Amazing, polite, kind librarians! But their book selection for children's not as up to date, and limited science books. Englewood cliffs patrons don't get to sign up for most of the library programs. Wish they made it optional for us with a nominal fee?"
"NYC Has much to learn from this one location. Especially jackson heights in queens. They have a very organized and welcoming children's section that has me so excited about returning. A 3 year old or child under 3 can have a wonderful inviting learning experience without any scolding from other parents or most importantly the people managing the center. They can develop a loving relationship with reading and learning and be excited as children should be!. I live in Queens,NY but am committed to travel to this location for my children to experience learning in an environment well suited for their age. Thank you!"
