"I know its not me, but I live 3 blocks away and would rather go to the Riverdale library Where you feel comfortable asking and needing help. Some of us are far from computer savy and nat beed a but more help and in the branch? They let you know that its a bother for them to help you. Be it rolling their eyes.. letting out a heavy sigh .. they have no problem letting you know you’re bothering them. When you have to walk up saying “Im sorry? Because you need help? Thats bad! Riverdale is the perfect example of how staff should help their members and community this branch is far below"
"The library here plays a great role in our community. My daughter loves the frequent events, held there and access to all the books she could read. We often make an afternoon of just going there browsing, reading a book, and sometimes playing with the computers. There is an exceptionally good children's section to this library."
"Although a very nice library in the day This library is like going into the feeding den at the Bronx zoo There are elementary and middle school kids who come to hang out. They have no respect for the security guard nor the people who actually come to study The staff just sit there like they are afraid of these kids. They need a police officer or two in here Or just open up romps a room in here. What a disgrace"
"Staff no friendly and moody. Plenty of computers and laptops. On Summer time is nice and quiet, but school time is awful. Once the new lady manager screamed at the ps71 kids in front of everybody in the library. I felt very disrespected. She can’t control herself, can’t expect kids to behave. For story time Miss Ferrer did an awesome job, she was energetic, friendly and kids loved her, unfortunately she left. Library is clean."
"There is a quiet room however your “not allowed to close the door” ... then what’s the point of a QUIET room? The quiet room is right by the front and can hear and see everyone walking in making it a HUGE distraction for those that need to study. Unacceptable. This place is awful. It’s loud, dirty, and the homeless walk in and cause a ruckus by talking and moving around Non stop. The front desk people are even loud themselves."
