"Really, really cool, beautiful hidden gem. Tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood, it totally feels like stepping into another world. It's a nice trail that sort of loops (if you walk the last part down a residential street). Goes through cool swampy wetland areas with beautiful tall reeds, pretty gravel paths through the woods, etc. Really well maintained, has benches and seating throughout along the trail, and lots of very cute, educational signs to read throughout as well. So glad I gave this place a try, will definitely be coming back! So peaceful and unique."
"Hard to believe this treasure is right in Ridgefield Park. An enjoyable place to walk through. If you're lucky enough to go on a guided walk, you'll see and learn things you never knew about. We've seen the red fox and bald eagles during our walks. Volunteers have done a great job creating this little piece of nature for all to enjoy."
"The Ridgefield Park Nature Preserve is a hidden gem. In one visit I saw a deer, red fox and three bald eagles - as well as dozens of other birds. It is also impressive that this preserve has Braille signage for guests with visual impairments. Highly recommend going on the guided tours! Incredibly informative and fun."
"Luckily I follow the new and improved RP instagram (@ridgefieldparknj) to learn all about the nature preserve! I never knew it existed until I saw the videos and posts! The volunteers have done an extraordinary job. When I arrived, I was greeted by an adorable fox on the boardwalk. When I left, I couldn't believe I saw the fox again! We saw countless animals, can't wait to go back and see some more. This is so impressive!!"
