Council Member Kevin C. Riley is dedicated to fostering a more equitable and inclusive community through his roles as Chair of the Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises and Co-Chair of the Black, Latino, and Asian Caucus—the largest caucus within the New York City Council. His leadership is focused on ensuring equal opportunities and access for communities of color, addressing the housing crisis with initiatives for affordable housing and homeownership, and empowering marginalized communities through strategic infrastructure improvements.

Under his guidance, the Council has successfully approved 40 land use applications, paving the way for over 12,000 new housing units, with more than 63% designated as affordable. Additionally, Council Member Riley has been instrumental in passing the historic FDNY Diversity bill package, championing equity in recruitment, retention, and training within the department.
