"Unfortunately, my experience at the Orangeburg County Library was less than satisfactory. During a crucial video interview on a quiet Monday morning, I was abruptly interrupted by a staff member, despite the library being seemingly deserted. The encounter was not only disruptive but also displayed a lack of professionalism and discernment. The staff member's demeanor was absolutely appalling, exhibiting a lack of courtesy and understanding. Thankfully, I managed to navigate through the interview successfully, securing the job despite the unnecessary interruption. However, it's evident that the library staff could benefit from additional training or discussions on handling such situations with more tact and consideration. While my outcome was positive, it was in spite of the interruption rather than because of it. I hope this feedback prompts improvements in customer service and awareness of individual circumstances at the Orangeburg County Library. Please feel free to contact me about who specifically that staff member was, I would love to see your library grow. UPDATE: Thank you for your message. To clarify, my review was indeed meant for your library in Orangeburg, New York, not the Orangeburg County Library. I hope this clears up any confusion. So I will not be removing my review and I hope you take the necessary steps to address this situation."
"They are okay. When you come from nanuet library your expectations are high. They have nice staff and a children’s room with some programs. But they need major love and an improvement. It’s old, need of a bigger space and not even half of the list of children’s programs that nanuet library has."
"While some people say libraries are obsolete, I disagree. You'll never get the one on one rapport or support a library offers from an online source. It's the staff that truly makes the library more valuable. I feel so strongly about my library that I'm now conducting a class. Check out the online and in person classes! If you give your email address to the events coordinator, she'll keep you updated on the latest activities."
"We love the Orangeburg Library. Our family has been patrons for approximately 6 years since our oldest was born. They offer wonderful programs, including a reading program for babies- older children. Their summer program offers so many different activities, including yoga, arts & crafts, reading and cooking classes for children. The staff is the best! Ms. Kimberly goes out of her way to make programs fun and enriching for the children. The Polar Express with Ms. Kimberly has become a family tradition in our house. We have met many fine friends through the library as well. It's just a wonderful place for children of all ages, as well as adults."
"The staff is excellent! They always exceed my expectations. They provide many fun programs to promote learning for our children. They have great access to so many Titles. I now live in NC and find that the library system pales in comparison. I often buy books from the Orangeburg Library and donate them to my Mint Hill, NC library."
