"Wonderful little library with friendly and helpful staff, and lots of fun events. Situated right near Flywheel Park and the Piermont Pier."
"Don’t be fooled by the look of this quaint “ River City” library on the Hudson River in Piermont, NY! Inside its charming yellow Victorian cottage exterior is a state of the art library. WiFi , computers, xerox and printing services are up to date. The book collections are current and well displayed. There is a children’s room with classes and comfy reading spaces. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful . I notice a couple negative reviews of 5 years ago but this does not hold true now. The library has a beautiful art gallery space which displays monthly art exhibits with a reception to meet the current artist. December features a group art show perfect for holiday gift giving ! Every Summer the library promotes an adult reading program with PRIZES!!!! This is a gem on the gorgeous Hudson River setting. I’m heading over now !"
"Such a wonderful library! They host an art show every month. They do the opening reception on a Sunday, and then the art is available to view all month. The current month’s artist Dani Harrold has a show called “Home Is Where The Art Is.” Her work is really beautiful. The portraits are magnificent and so beautiful. You can feel the joy and emotion of the subjects in her paintings! She had such an impressive variety of work, including pantings and sketches of Rockland County homes. The home sketches are such a good gift for a friend who loves their home or a new home buyer! The library staff is so wonderful also. I love the art classes Alexis teaches, and the December art show event which features 2 pieces from all the artists who had shows the previous 11 months. I went this past December and it was a poppin’ event!"
"Wouldn't recommend this library, I went there, they were short staffed and I had to print out some documents. They do this weird thing where they require you to pay for each page ahead of time. And the only librarian in there was in the middle of doing a children's program, and I had to wait constantly for minutes at a time to add funds to be able to print all my pages. Very inconvenient."
"I absolutely love the location of this library, but with that being said nobody comes to the library to just enjoy the views. People come there to read , research and do work. This is where this library seems to have a problem with. For some reason, they have an attitude that the library patrons are just some kind of peasants and they are like ruling over us. The WiFi signal at this location is so weak and so slow that you are guaranteed to lose at least 20 minutes of work just trying to connect to their library network. Now let's say you have the "luxury" to connect to their library network, you are now more guaranteed to either lose that connection or get kicked off the internet entirely every 2-3 minutes. That's the kind of internet connection they have set up in this day and age at such a part of the town. Don't worry about bringing this up with them. They give you the run around and make you feel like it's your problem and that you are the one with the bad computer. You can try it with your laptop , phone or your tablet , it all yields the same results. I truly wonder if the Piermont residents really know where their tax dollars are going because if this is definitely not how it's done at other libraries in the nearby areas. You can go to Nanuet , Nyack or even Tappan library which are all nearby and they all welcome you with a smile and heart to service. But for some reason here you get the run around when you bring up the fact that you are getting 1 Mbps speeds for the internet. The worst part is the talk down. Why would a librarian talk down on you for telling them that their internet connection is bad. Not only that why would they want to make you feel bad as if you did something wrong by asking them. I truly wonder how our tax dollars are being used at this library."
