Brookside Cemetery
About the Business
Welcome to Brookside Cemetery, a serene and historic resting place located at 425 Engle Street, Englewood, New Jersey. Established in 1876 by a dedicated group of local residents, Brookside Cemetery stands as one of the most beautiful and meticulously maintained cemeteries in Bergen County. Recognized for its tranquil beauty by Austin N. Volk, former Mayor of Englewood, our cemetery offers a peaceful environment for reflection and remembrance.
Before the Civil War, Englewood lacked a public burial ground, with burials typically taking place in family plots and churchyards. Brookside Cemetery was founded to provide a communal space for eternal rest, and it has since become a cherished part of the community. A testament to its historic significance, the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of Englewood generously donated their charming stone chapel to the cemetery shortly after its establishment.
At Brookside Cemetery, we honor the legacy of those who have come before us while providing a dignified and serene setting for future generations. Whether you are visiting a loved one or considering your own eternal resting place, we invite you to experience the tranquility and beauty of our grounds.

"My Wife was buried here in late November next to her mother. I have a plot next to her and my brother in law also. I was very pleased with the arrangements, and the people here. I am very thankful that she is here. Beautiful cemetery."
