"A nice little library. Placed on the edge of a beautiful public park and situated within a very interesting old building (Tudor style?), with the community center attached to its right and its basement housing the local historical society. The first floor contains the periodicals (newspaper rack and magazine shelves), local resources pamphlets, a public events corkboard, and some sitting chairs in addition to the circulation desk. The second floor hosts the adult nonfiction and fiction sections, in addition to a large conference table that seats about 10, an attached conference room with glass dividers that is currently fitted with reading chairs and a table, a tech nook with 3 computers, and then also a nice sitting area that faces the front entrance and the park. All very pleasantly lit, nice and newly furnished, tasteful placement of houseplants and books of interest, and an interesting local artwork group's display. Altogether on the small side, but certainly a lovely little library."
"I had an extremely pleasant experience at your library. I was at Briar cliff Manor to visit a friend I worked with in New York City for 6 years. When I got there the postman told me he had moved and was unable to provide his new address to me. I explained this to one of your staff, a sweet lady who stayed with me until I had the new address plus a phone number, as I told her I wasn't that good with computers. I then went outside the building to call my friend. I had not seen him since 1976. At the time I was 70 and he was 80 years old. He immediately invited me to his house and he and I spent the next 5 1/2 hours talking over old times. A very enjoyable afternoon."
"Former New York Central Railroad station on the Putnam Division. Passenger service ended 5/28/1958. The rails were removed in 1962. The Village has done an outstanding job of preserving the building and repurpose it into a library."
"We have lived here for 9 years and we find the employees at this library very helpful and very pleasant"
"The staff is rude, unfriendly, self entitled and definitely unwelcoming. They make the rules on the spot, rules that change from one employee to another, rules that aren’t listed anywhere. The library’s management needs to shake things up and improve the atmosphere. The library should serve the community, the employees that feel unhappy there need to leave. There’s to need to be grumpy to the people who are trying to use the facility."
