"If I could give the half a star I would. Ed has been sending me my over payment for 7 months for a unit that was emptied in Dec. He ran a payment on my card in Jan.(after being left a message that the unit was vacated Dec ) and had not realized his people were using the unit. I've called, showed up several times and he keeps he'll mail it out. Well guess what....he still hasn't mailed it."

"Compared to other storage facilities I've seen, this one has a lot lacking, it is a bit run down and in some places there's furniture laying in the pathway which is to say the least is littered with some form of trash. The most disconcerting thing is that someone breeched several of the locking mechanism forcing the doors open including ours. I'm not if anything was taken. Even though signs are posted about surveillance, a few camaras were observed but there were none seen on the the second floor section where our storage unit was located. I'm currently looking at other options. The whole ordeal makes us feel violated and our stuff unsecured."

"I'm not sure if this gives any weight but I've used this storage facility since July of 2020 and the only thing they have great is they pick up your things and place then how ever they see fit in your unit. I travel often which around September I made it aware to Ed that their were several dropping from any rodents in my unit. Now their policy is no food in the units (which ifcourse I obliged, since I have no need to store food at a storage unit). But that is not the case for several companies of freight shilling like Tineo and La Linea shipping which store a copious amounts of food (causing rodents to be driven to them). My unit 231 has been infested, I even left Ed my key to take a look and offer some remedy or maybe move me into a cleaner unit. That was in October 2020 and we are now in April 2021, and he has not been able to offer any solution. To top things off which was very off putting and has occurred to several tenants while one of the three front desk attendants have worked there in the past 10 months (has gone through 3) was payment issues where the payments were made and someone was dropping the ball in documenting receipt of payment. This establishment is poorly ran and quite frankly I am disappointed since I was referred here initially. This entire facility on E 24th st needs renovation, fumigation, deodorization, better security, attentive customer service personnel and must importantly pest control. I feel bad for the new front desk Sam who has to fix and deal with all the issues that others have made for her that come with being employed here. This by far is not a rant out of frustration but a testament of the poor service and horrid conditions of the unit spaces. I firmly believe in integrity and honesty. Which if Ed would've kept his word when he stated he would take care of it. I would've overlooked a few things just like we all do. But, the blantly disregard for a paying customer which NY the way 95.05 a month for approximately 10 months plus a service fee, all just to have a pest infested unit and have 85% of your belongings stained and infected is down right an atrocity and needs to be rectified. Hope this elevates their and your awareness to please steer clear until further action is taken. Thank you."

"Shield self storage has GREAT customer service. I needed a 5 x 10 unit. Ed guided me thru out the process. They even offer a free truck to move in the storage. Never heard of a storage company that provides that. Can't ask for a better deal!!"
