Reviews of Cedar Park and Beth El Cemeteries
"in judaism a burial plot is more holy and sacred then a synagogue. you would not know it based on how this entire Beth El Cedar Park Cemetary is NOT cared for. my late wife is buried at the Nanuet Hebrew center block and i personally take care of it monthly. i don’t e text anyone to assist w this nor would expect others plots to look as kemp as my late wife’s. although both the cemetary, the related relatives and communities should be ashamed of themselves, for allowing this disrespect to continue. I have offered to meet to show how to do what is required ( as my profession and passion is environmental and landscape design) it’s quite interesting because someone on staff drives a very expensive Porsche which is shiny and pristine! it’s always parked out front in the past i have heard the issue is rain or this or that. yet it never gets any better. honestly i would have preferred not to have to write this, yet there seems no concern or ownership"
"our family plot has been there for way over 60 years. the up keep is disgusting.. we paid in full for it to be taken care of forever. grass is always burnt. weeds stones never cleaned .. staff is not understanding what a change. guess they got to big for there bridges. we have 48 plots. so sorry my dad and uncle ever bought there."
"Find someplace else, anyplace, find someplace else ! ! ! I know it's very hard to work with the public and circumstances surrounding a death it is even more difficult. If these people don't want to deal with emotional people, then find something else to do. Carmen at the front deal is a miserable whench to deal. Poor social skills, oblivious to what is going on around her. Solely focused on getting payment and her affidavit. If these do not like their jobs, then quit."
"My famly has a 6 person plot (12'x15'), for which I pay the seasonal maintenance. Each year the cost for maintenance (lawn mowing) grows faster than the rate of inflation. This year, 2024, THE RATE ROSE FROM $840 IN 2023 TO $980-- A 16%+ INCREASE. I asked repeatedly for an explanation of the dramatic increase in costs-- initially via email to Lawrence Rose, and then via phone calls. He sent me a boiler plate letter reviewing the process for decision making but not addressing my simple question of what spurred the price increase. While speking to Mr. Rose on the phone he was very evasive, and kept repeating the inconsequential information concerning process, and refused to give any reason for the increase. He kept speaking in circles, never answering the simple question of "Why the large increase in the cost of maintenance?". He became flustered when I pointed out errors in his "explanation". And finally he hung up after 15 minutes of him repeating the same banal information, never having even attempted to tell me why the cost has risen so dramatically. He was rude, condascending, and obtuse. His attitude is a problem for someone who needs to deal with people. The Point is CEDAR PARK AND BETH EL OVERCHARGE FOR LAWN MAINTENANCE. I would recommend considering other cemetaries where price gauging is not practiced and where the staff are considerate, thoughtful, and competent."
"Today, I came to Beth El cemetery for the funeral of my uncle at 80 years old. The staff and all the people working were very gracious and pleasant. A very good experience in the Jewish religion. Thank you for all you do with families"
