"My cousin told me about Mount Hope and I decided to give them a try because Woodlawn cemetery prices are insane. Cemetery shopping is a real thing and stressful. Be mentally prepared. I enjoyed the customer service, flexibility, and patience of the employee. (She works at the front desk). Mt. Hope is also very affordable without breaking pockets. Death and pre/post-death planning is very expensive and draining. We brought a two-plot for our parents. The day of the burial: everything went according to plan. It was also JAMMED PACK of other burials. The traffic congestion was real life. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I love anytiime I go visit my dad his area is always clean. The flowers I left there last time when I came back was still there- that put a smile on my face. Thank you Mt. Hope!"
"My mother and I were locked in this place and I had to call the cops to get out. The blonde woman who was employed by this institution knew we were in there and never confirmed I found the gate to actually leave. Hence, I never found the gate and got locked inside the cemetery. I thought this only happened in movies. *Please give me a name and number to call. I tried calling as suggested below, but the worker (who is the same woman that locked me in your cemetery) claims she does not know who responds to your posts. Thank you."
"I am giving one star because you can not give no stars. I went to the cemetery on February 11th 2022 to visit my son's grave only to find the horrific site. I understand that we have had winter weather and the ground would have been extremely moist . However to see the marking of huge cemetery truck tires. I called the office and spoke to a person whom I at one time explain what happened to my child and the conversation went all left from there. I was told that I did not pay for the perpetual care I asked if I someone could come down and see what I was seeing only to be told that they were getting ready to go home. I was then told that there were a lot of burials in that section. So in my mind I am thinking how does that effect the graves in the row where my son and others are already buried. I was later given information about other cemeteries conditions. I am concerned about my son's grave. It is bad enough what happened to my innocent , good hearted son I could barely breathe after seeing this . I had to stop off and talk to someone just to get myself together to drive home. I spoke to representative John who was waiting at the gate and he promised me that they were going to fix this issue. I had problems before with his grave and I stated them and they were addressed. I did not put a vault in the ground as a grieving mother to have to deal with burying my son it was not an easy task , I told the representative I spoke to ( I know her name but I will hold on to that because I spoke to her before and she was a little more understanding than she was yesterday) I do not know what is going on under the grave because the weight of those heavy machines. Her response was she has no control over what God does. Then again referred to the fact that I did not pay the perpetual care, so I can only infer that if you do not pay the perpetual care they disrespect your grave what kind of racket is this. I purchased a grave for myself and for my son so I also asked if this is what will be done while I am here what is to be expected when I am not here. I am so disgusted . I took a chance and put my son here and it has been one thing after another . My son was buried May 24th I came back Saturday and there was plywood covering his grave. So I came back the next week only to see huge boulder type rocks embedded into his grave , I went to the office with photos and the first remark was you did not pay for the perpetual care. I paid the perpetual care and everything changed with the soils and conditions. There was a burial and low and behold another problem soil thrown over the grass that had begun to grow I made another complaint I came back a week later and everything was fixed again. I am at a point where I need to seek legal advice . I am truly at my wits end. I hope that someone for the corporate office reaches out to me I can not take much more of this. Mentally, Emotionally , Destroyed Mother. I received a letter from the president of the Cemetery and I appreciated that. I was asked to give it some time and things would be better. I did go back a month later and it was in acceptable condition. I was able to sit out with my son. I still would like an apology from the representative but I won't hold my breath. Addionally I was thoroughly explained why the area was dug up which in actuality was not explained during the purchasing process. I don't recall the young man's name put I do appreciate his time and pleasant nature. Humanity is all were deserve."
"Beautiful place, views to stay connected to our loved ones that have passed on."
"I had to give this a star to post but I would not give them any stars... my parents are buried there and the place is a disgrace. We visit the grave every Sunday and before we can say prayers we have to clean the stones from grass clippings otherwise they would look like the picture I am attaching. There is no respect for the dead or their families. It does not matter if endowed or not. I have family and friends in other cemeteries and the place and stones are nice and clean... I can provide pictures of those also. Being of the eastern rite we have different Easter and Christmas.... Mt. Hope does not respect that because they throw away the flowers before the holiday; especially Easter. Shame on Mt. Hope on how they treat the graves and the families of the deceased.."
