Reviews of Woodcliff Lake Community Garden
"A wonderful and delightful addition to the community. Creates opportunities and options for residents to garden, especially if they don’t have the space. Thank you for creating this garden!"
"Started three years ago, the garden sits inside an enclosed steel fence that is shared with the Shade Tree Committee. The gardens are comprised of 10 separate above ground planters that are filled with fresh soil from a local nursery. There are rules that are established for the garden and they were written by the Parks and Rec head who oversees the garden. The people who signed up for the gardens use them because they have insufficient sunlight for their own gardens. They know one another so that is the community aspect. They are not knowledgeable in the gardening aspect. They could use oversight in what grows well together, the idea of crop rotation, using pesticides and in cleaning up the gardens at the end of the year. It is left a mess in the fall. There is a hose for watering along with garden tools that are placed there for gardening There are 2 picnic tables outside the enclosure for leisure and the garden sits under a giant Oak tree."
