"steer clear of travelling through here at night. especially if you’re an international traveler. We had a two hour layover here for our bus ride back to toronto from nyc. Figured it was a a train station, we could find somewhere to eat, sit for a bit, etc. Not the case. The mcdonalds at this location was …. i wish i could go back and un-experience that. extremely sketchy and it’s the only time ever in my life i felt genuinely unsafe at a train station. panhandlers coming up to you and harassing you, the smell was rancid everywhere. nowhere to sit as well so beware if you have a lay over. if you’re just passing thru or commuting during the day i’m sure it’s a different story but at night … never again. had i known i would had to wait here i would have NEVER taken the bus in the first place. BEWARE ."
"A lot of rude people and unstable homeless people, but there was visible security positioned in most areas. The greyhound bus area is deplorable. Watch all your luggage at all times. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Other areas were clean compared to most other bus stations. The Amtrak people will ask you to leave if you try to wait in their area without a train ticket. If you wait outside, it can get scary. Hardly any seating anywhere but Amtrak, and again, it only for Amtrak riders. The McDonald’s there was dirty, but the employees tried to be pleasant. The food and behind the counter looked okay. In fact, they food was served hot and tasted fresh. There were just so many panhandlers, scavengers, transients, and mentally unstable people wander wring around that it was unnerving. There’s also a place to get coffee and a pastry. There are some stores and vending machines in operation. Do NOT take out your wallet for any reason, or you’ll be swarmed by beggars. Have your credit cards, debit cards, ID, and your cash ready in a secure pocket on and close your person, like a front pocket of your shirt. BE DISCREET, and don’t engage in conversation or make eye contact with anyone unless absolutely necessary—you’ll be sorry if you do!! Bathrooms are okay, but be prepared for anything and everything. They try to keep the place clean, but there is just so many disgusting people. The greyhound area really was the worst of it, though. Stay safe, and good luck to you."
"It is pretty old but very easy to walk around Many people might say it's old and way too many homeless people around asking for a quarter, that's absolutely true, but I got great interaction with customer service and even the police officers were extremely helpful anytime I asked for information. The tracks and the roof beams structure needs some paint but it is not the end of the world, I don't mind trading an old building with great customer service attention for a brand new contemporary one in which you have to figure it out to where to go."
"Pretty odd place, the interior was nice to look at but regarding the homeless people is just wasn't for me, being bothered left and right for change. I asked the police if homeless people were even allowed in there and he said no but there were homeless people inside anyways."
"What a flippancy. There's a bus from New Jersey to Pittsburgh at 7:55AM. They have a delay, but the depart time is not clear. I see for the first time in my life. We are waited 200 min. And Bus departs at 11:15AM. For me not good experience. Think. Wait 200 min without any notice. It's easy to wait so long."
