"It was a pleasure and honor to be on the nyc ferry today. I remember and admire their service on a date this week, fifteen years ago, when they came to the rescue of an aircraft piloted by ‘Sully’ to save the passengers of an airplane that had to land within the Hudson river. The response would have been a lot different if the young “captains” of these ships had not taken action to redirect and rescue all the passengers of the aircraft as it “floated” in the river. To this day I stand in awe of the bravery and actions that these young captains redirecting their responsibilities to save lives of others. If not for the newly established NYC ferry service this day would have turned out much different. Thank you for the valiant memories of that day. On another note, As I am riding the ferry today, I envisioned pictures/slides of that being shown on this anniversary of that day to honor the crews of NYC ferry and for the riding public to realize that they are on board with crew members who are part of a heroic history. Thank You"
"Just cost me $4 for one of the most memorable days I have recently enjoyed. Boarded in Far Rockaway from the subway. Employees were all very nice. Boat is clean and comfortable, and affords incredible views from the outside, upper deck. (Bring a jacket.) You see all monuments and attractions, from the bridges to the Statue of Liberty to Coney Island, but from an entirely different vantage point. It was just spectacular."
"This individual is rude and nasty. He is constantly talking on his phone and fails to acknowledge guests. When he finally does address you, he is spitting all kinds of food particles on you, b/c he is eating between bouts of rudness. He also has no knowledge of Ferry schedules."
"We took the ferry from Wall Street ferry station up to Hunters Point in Queens via the East River line. The Wall Street station was clean and convenient with ferries leaving regularly. We had a great time on the boat zooming up the river at incredible speeds! We were on the boat shortly before sunset so it was kind of like a sunset cruise. Such a great ride and very cheap!"
"$2.75 gets you a fantastic ride that avoids the subway and provides some of NYC’s best scenery. Tourists, remember to not act stupid during morning and evening rush. There are multiple routes connecting the boroughs with transfers available at certain points like Wall st and E34th."
