"Beautiful architecture and design of the Farley Building! The skylight is gorgeous! We been using this train station for a few years now and we love it! Is so clean and big, there is a lot of bathrooms in different areas and a lot of screens so you can keep an eye on your train schedule. There is connection between the Subway and the Long Island Rail Road. Also, a food hall with a lot of options which is very convenient (keep in mind that is a bit pricey) Magnolia Bakery & Jacob’s Pickles (our favorites). If you’re taking the train super early Blue Bottle Coffee (love this coffee), H&H Bagels (didn’t try it yet but smell delicious) & Starbucks are open."
"The moment we arrived a 'floor-walker' was very helpful giving us advice and immediately slipped into Spanish for a group that followed us. Immaculately clean and bright. Information was very clear regarding the train schedules and the staff in the office were helpful and blunt - which is a the New York trait that I was advised about and is simply a way of being efficient. We caught the early Maple Leaf train up to Niagra Falls, though we couldn't get a train to Jamaica (see photo) - no surprise really as I had to fly to Kingston last time :-)"
"Beautiful train station with lots of food options. But it's not a great place to wait for your train as there are very limited seating spaces. Makes me wonder who in the right mind with design a train station like this."
"A modern, clean train station. Nice architecture in parts of it. There's a US post office, there is a good court, a Walgreens, restrooms on different floors. What's not too good? The Amtrak lines for boarding can be disorganized. And when it's crowded, lots of people have to sit on the floor because there are barely any benches or chairs."
"It is beautiful but awful place to wait for a train! No seats anywhere, and there are very few signs with the train details, making it hard to figure out what track your train is on. Customer service was more focused on chatting with each other than helping customers. The food court is all specialty foods with no place to get a basic sandwich or drink. Plus, prices are extreme - paid $18 for a ham and cheese sandwich on a baguete with butter because they had no condiments. In all, I have definitely had better experiences."
