"BUYER BEWARE. Others are having similar experiences to mine, scroll down and see amended reviews. After 4 months of renting a 10' x 10' storage unit, I received a 30 day notice that my rental rate would go from $189 to $255- a 35% increase!!! I went in and told them that I wasn't okay with that big a jump. An employee told me that new customers are getting the same size unit for $210. They encouraged me to negotiate rather than leave. I offered to go up to $210. They counter-offered $241 (a 28% increase). I said that was still too much. They said they'd get back to me but no one did. Then a manager took my card off autopay (trying to be helpful) while I wait for a district manager to get back to me about my $210 offer. Now I'm receiving late fee notices, and notices threatening that my belongings will be sold for non-payment. Also the place is warm and humid and lights are motion sensitive and there's no sensor over my unit- so if I'm at the back of my unit looking for something, the lights will go out and I'm in pitch dark. This started off seeming like a good business, but it's gone sideways fast. I was told that the increase phenomenon was what I get for not paying for a full year up front, but that's not something I can afford to do. I've used other storage unit companies for many, many years and have never experienced such a staggering increase and then lack of communication. The reason they have so many good reviews is that the young people working there are super nice and then ask you to write them a good review. I did it early on, too!"
