"Do not sit on any seat in the waiting area, soaked through in piss. Almost always Bums there until cops rock up at 6, then the cops get on the train and the Bums return. Upstairs, the platform is generally clean and safe."

"The machines weren't working properly and there are people sleeping on the benches in the lobby area I felt very unsafe when purchasing my ticket"

"Ofcourse it's gonna have a bad odor now and then, but I can tell that they do clean it very often. Unfortunately its not gonna smell great if you have people relieving themselves multiple times a day. I know for sure that they clean it, but they can't keep up with the nasty ones. 90% of the time I don't smell any pee. I take the train daily and overall I have had a great experience with this station. Train is always on time."

"Nasty and smells like pee... The MTA needs to post a policeman here because I am always seeing people relieve themselves by the exit and in the parking areas. This has to stop. It gives Mt. Vernon a bad name."

"Fairly clean, wheelchair accessible station. In order to buy tickets you must go via a passageway, which is where the waiting room is. There's an employee for people who want to buy tickets in person as well as actual ticket machines. On the platforms there are shelters with heat."
