"All I want is to remeber my father and have a service for him with his friends and family who loved him. We couldn’t have a service because he died at a cancer center in Florida with all his family in New York during Christmas time. He was a devout Catholic and deserves a service. My fathers church was unavailable for months so I reached out to St Anthony’s. Well We are not parishioners at that church so we were denied by the priest. His parents are burried in that cemetery but that means nothing. I would have made a donation, paid any fees or even registered, I don’t live in the area but I do work in the area and a Catholic. So I lose the most important person in my life to leukemia, right after his birthday, three days before mine and right before Christmas and now I am Unable to fufill his one wish. Thank You saint Anthony’s for showing me that not all Catholic Church’s are welcoming And for making me question my faith. You have made a devastating situation so much worse. I will find a church that welcomes us in this heartbreaking time and I will fufill his one wish no thanks to you. Update: I did find a church that was extremely welcoming, renewed my faith and helped me fufill my dads last wish. St. Ann’s church in Nyack NY. They did not have a problem with me not being apart of their church and they went above and beyond to fufill my wishes while being so sweet and comforting. The date that was best for everyone in my family was a busy day for St. Ann’s Church but after asking the priest he said, absolutely they could fit us in. Don’t waste your time with St Anthony’s, you’re not welcome. However there are church’s out there that care, especially St Ann’s!"
"I have been a parishioner at St. Anthony's church for as long as I can remember. As I have grown up, I can always say I've generally enjoyed each Sunday mass I've gone to. While I can only speak from my perspective, I have always felt generally welcomed at St. Anthony's until this past Sunday. Never have I left a mass feeling regret that I had gone in the first place. Unfortunately, my older sister and I came a bit late and I was unable to get the name of the new priest who spoke at 11:30 a.m. mass on 10/22. He called LGBTQIA+ education propaganda, said that marriage should be between a man and a woman, and said that LGBTQIA+ people are simply, "confused." I was genuinely upset and even cried because of how angry I was at the priest. I was glad that others felt the same way. The male singer, who is also part of the LGBTQIA+ community, openly expressed his hurt at the end of the mass and was unsure if he wanted to continue his employment at the church because of the unwelcoming, hostile, and discriminatory environment that was created by this priest. Do not invite this priest back. I am not only upset at the priest but even more disappointed in St. Anthony's as a church. The decision to bring this priest into the church was evidently uninformed and reflects poorly on the church as a whole. While anti-LGBTQIA+ beliefs and monotheistic faiths are often seen as intertwined, it is my firm belief that it is one thing to have a religious belief and a completely different matter to disguise bigotry, hatred, and discrimination as the word of God. Funnily enough the priest was talking about hypocrites. I think it is hypocritical of St. Anthony's to invite a priest who is so openly selective about who is and isn't worthy in the eyes of God."
"Pretty little church...visited while I was in town...they offer mass on the weekend"
"They provided a nice small chapel for a funeral. They were organized and pleasant."
