"They’re the only certified proctor for an exam I need to take within an hour and a half. I only have a few weeks left to take the exam. I have been calling for a week and a half, leaving voicemails, and no one has answered, no one has gotten back to me."
"We love Sylvan! We were happy with our experience with the previous owner, but the team really seems to go above and beyond since the change in ownership. Thanks so much for helping our kids in such a kind and caring way!"
"We had been with Sylvan for many years for our children under two different ownerships. The owners changed again this year and with that this place has become completely different—an unprofessional and unethical money making business! I paid in advance last year for the lessons. With coronavirus shutdown, we didn’t get to utilize our lessons. Sylvan reopened but my daughter has pre-existing conditions so we decided not to send her over. She was already doing virtual learning with too much of screen time (1st grader) and we knew more of it via Sylvan would not be productive either. I contacted them to ask for refund of 1K+ of unused amount (approx same amount already ulatlized before the shutdown). First, I was told I couldn’t get it because I paid more then 2 years ago. When I clarified I paid last year, then I was told, ownership changed so I couldn’t get the refund. When I said we were not informed of the change of ownership otherwise I would have taken my money back then, then I was told some lessons were rescheduled therefore couldn’t be refunded. When I clarified re the rescheduled lessons then I got no further repose till-date. I also gave them examples of private schools who changed their written contractual fee polices to provide relief to parents during these unprecedented times of COVID that has put many families under strain, even though what I was asking was not against any policy of Sylvan’s that we were ever made aware of over the years, let alone any written contract to the effect. During all this, they kept forcing me to send my daughter despite I telling them she couldn’t come in person due to her conditions. I asked many times to get connected to the owner directly, which never happened. Those who had been with Sylvan under Lydia and Coco’s times would know how prior owners use to talk to parents directly and address any issues. This place has become a complete ripoff, so please be aware . At the least, do not buy lessons in advance!"
"We love Sylvan! They are wonderful and super nice and work with students of all levels. They are friendly to learning delays and disabilities if your child has special needs. Positive and upbeat people. Very professional. Group or private settings to meet your child’s individual needs. Highly recommended."
