"Review: Needs Attention to Basic Maintenance and Member Etiquette I’m leaving this review to help the gym improve. I get that times are tough, and cutting costs might be necessary, but some simple fixes could really make a difference. • Staff: The staff here are nice and helpful, and that’s part of why I’m still giving 2 stars. The gym is close by and gets the job done, but it could be so much better with a few changes. • TVs on the Cardio Floor: None of the TVs are working, which makes cardio more boring than it needs to be. • Water Filters: The water filters are showing red, so they clearly haven’t been changed in a while. The water doesn’t taste right, which is a concern. • Clocks: Some clocks around the gym aren’t working, making it harder to keep track of time. • Stretching Area: The mats are in bad shape—torn and falling apart. It’s a bit embarrassing to see them still in use. • Member Behavior: Some members act like they own the place, leaving dumbbells all over the floor. If staff walked around more often to put weights back, it might encourage better behavior from everyone. This gym has potential, but it needs some attention to make it a better place for everyone."
"I’m a very dissatisfied member. The constant “club” music is ridiculous. Can’t even understand it because it’s in a different language. I enjoy listening to all types of music buts it everyday. Have yet to hear a rock song yet. The place is a mess. There is zero gym etiquette. No one puts their weights away. How is a 75 pound dumbbell left by a lat pull down machine? The dumbbell rack is empty because they’re al over the faculty. This includes upstairs by the bikes and treadmills. Speaking of the upstairs, there’s at least 5 bikes that are out of order!! There are plates on every bar bell everyday. The so called manager just sits in the office or talking at the front desk with the other employees. How difficult is it to walk around the facility? You made it seem as if I was getting a great Father’s Day deal; however, in actuality it’s a rip off!! If I was the owner I’d be furious. If I could easily cancel my son’s and my membership I would. Then I’d join Planet Fitness."
""I hate it here! I want to go home!"- Dre Parker Karate Kid 2010. You get what you pay for. There's more BROKEN machines than working machines. There's 6 plate loadable machines (they are awful even when working) and 3 of them are currently broken. Metal parts of the equipment have been broke off the equipment. Some of these machines have been broken for MONTHS. Clearly the membership fees are not going towards repairs. Benches and squat racks aren't secured to the ground, so when you go to rack your weights, the equipment moves and rocks. The seated cable row is a mess (see pictures) and the other seated spot, the pulley is like trying to pull chain through a water bottle opening. Re-racking the weights is more or less a lost concept at this gym. People just tend to use the weight, drop it and walk away as if nothing happened. Cleanliness is a joke, water bottles, paper towels, dust is just everywhere. I haven't had the same issues with staff as other's reported. *update. It's simple maintenance that just isn't done. Tightening screws and bolts are easy yet it's.never done until something is going to break. And people steal the knobs ALL THE TIME. I don't get it. *update end of December 2021. The gym has improved. Some machines are still broken however they seem to get repaired a little bit faster. The benches and some equipment could use screw tightening and some basic maintenance. *update Jan 2022... Well here we are 1 year later and more or less still the same. Plates, dumbbells are all over the place. There is someone walking around cleaning however the place still is a mess. The adjustable bench doesn't actually work, you need to use your leg to lock it in place. It's holding on by a single screw. *April 2022 Update... Machines are more broken now than ever. Machines that are "fixed" are still broken but no sign has been placed. One lat pulldown starts AT 99LBs (no broken sign). The seated row opposite of that is like trying to pull the comforter from your spouse (no broken sign) I went for a workout and stretched and left noticing that most machines were broken or just not functioning correctly. *January 2023 update.. they've replaced a lot of machines and they've added a lot of new machines. This has vastly helped this gym. Machines seem to be repaired a bit faster. What's odd about the gym is how HUMID it gets inside. In the winter it's as humid as a jungle. I do find it odd, there's some machines that regular members can't use but only personal training can. Overall though the gym has improved a bunch."
"I was a little hesitant to go here after reading the reviews, but this place is fine. I recently moved back east after getting a beautiful, amazing facility with access to all locations for the same price as crunch that doesn't operate around here. I was surprised by how limited the gym options are, which also increases why there's so many people who go here. Literally no one cleans their equipment, so come prepared to do that and the attachments are limited. Everything I tried to use was working and in decent condition. I went and checked out the bathrooms and everything I looked at was clean. I wish they had a scale in the locker rooms or publicly available somewhere in the gym, but I didn't see anything outside of the training area. I signed up for my membership today and Antonio was really kind and easy to talk to. I was told it was $1 down and one month free yet I somehow owed $27 today, which still isn't making sense to me, but I didn't mentally process that until after I left - fully on me. He explained the annual fee I'll see in 60 days, but they don't tell you how to cancel. I get it, but transparency is nice. All in all, the gym is fine. It has everything you need to get in a work out, free parking, and a decent location. It was slow at 8 am on a Saturday. Don't complain about a busy gym if you're going to go at 5 pm on a weekday - all gyms are like that. The app tells you how busy the location is, so just look before you go."
"Very dissatisfied with this Crunch Fitness. I’ve been to a couple locations throughout the year and this is definitely poorly maintained. I got there very early so it seemed like it was not cleaned through the night to the next day. A lot of the machines are out of order and worn out and weights are missing. There was barely any cleaning spray and wipes so of course people leave the machines as is after using. The staff were very friendly however so it’s unfortunate that they have to deal with unhappy customers."
