Located at 25 Murray Hill Road, Vestal, New York, the Smart Energy Building is a cutting-edge research facility within Binghamton University's Innovative Technologies Complex. Opened in the summer of 2017, this state-of-the-art $70 million, 114,000 square-foot complex serves as the new home for the Chemistry and Physics departments, fostering a collaborative environment for faculty, students, and industry professionals.

The Smart Energy Building is designed to accommodate advanced research and development initiatives, focusing on new energy technologies and other cutting-edge scientific advancements. The building also houses the “Jeffrey S. Beck and Lisa C. Beck Laboratory,” named in honor of the generous contributions from Lisa C. Beck, in memory of her husband Jeffrey Beck ’84.
