Dr. Nicole Darrow 126 East Main Street, East Islip, NY 11730

"The WORST doctor I have ever seen. Dr. Darrow’s compassion is a zero and her medical knowledge is even less. After running labs and being told all was “fine” I am now scheduled for several infusions for an iron level that was extremely low. When I questioned Dr. Darrow’s advice .. she said “I am only referring you to a hematologist because you wouldn’t leave us alone” WELL thank god I wouldn’t leave them alone as I am under the care and guidance of a hematologist (NOT the one she recommended) who is resolving all of those issues that she stated were “fine” and they are not fine at all. The office is from the 80’s … I had to go and pick up the bloodwork on paper, which again thank god I did so that I could help myself as both Dr. Darrow and nurse Laurie stated the tests were “fine” when many many results came back with flags. More concerning than that; I was told to take pills for a lab that actually came back perfect. Again, an issue that was corrected by a hematologist—- Luckily in a timely manner. In addition, I questioned my total blood counts on the phone with Dr. Darrow as I noticed they were never included in the papers I picked up.. and again Dr. Darrow stated “they were all fine and in range” Since the results weren’t in the paperwork I received, I called medical records as I wanted a copy to bring to my new doctor. Nurse Laurie called me back and told me “we already gave you the papers” (as if I’m not capable of reading) and that “we never did a blood count test- there was a problem with the lab” SO NOW WE’RE LYING ABOUT RESULTS TOO?! How dare Dr. Darrow claim things were fine and in the normal range when they were never even ran. How scary!!!! Dr. Darrow seems to think it’s funny to bring humor into someone’s concerns about their symptoms and health. For example, she stated, “this isn’t McDonalds, you can’t just order whatever you want” when I requested further blood tests to help find the cause of my symptoms since everything was “ fine” and I am feeling completely unwell. Dr. Darrow also said at one point “what are you reading off the internet?” I guess when you can’t get answers from a doctor, you start searching for answers to help yourself get better, so yes Dr. Darrow, I was reading the internet! As a patient who was last seen 4 years ago, it is clear I am not a chronic complainer and my symptoms were affecting my everyday life. She also stated that I could go and find a new doctor- which I’m so glad that I did! Dr. Darrow AND her team are rude, unprofessional, and it’s honestly scary that they are trusted with anyone’s health."

"I've been going to Dr. Darrow for many years, as have a lot of my family. She is always very thorough and very easy to talk to. There have been many times when I have called to make an appointment because I'm sick. 9 times out of 10, the office gets me in the same day. I've read negative comments from the staff. That has never been my experience. They try their best to be accommodating and help you as best they can. Highly recommend"

"She is/was a good doctor. My entire family have been her patients for 20 years. Followed her as she traveled from practice to practice following her beliefs for her patients. That I believe is no longer the case. This practice is a hack, dirty & depressing. The staff is unfriendly & unprofessional. One by one all my family members found other physicians. Too bad, Dr. Darrow once was a great physician."

"I like Dr Darrow a lot, but the office is run like complete garbage. Almost everyone who works there is rude and I am regularly seen 30mins to 1hr after my scheduled appt on days they are not busy. On days they are busy it can be over an hour. I have had shorter wait times at walk ins. The way the office is run makes me want to find a new doctor."

"THE WORST OFFICE EVER!!! I had a few horrible experiences with them. Their front desk is extremely unorganized, puts you on hold a bunch of times and you have to explain repeatedly why you are calling every time they pick up the phone from being a hold. I won’t bore you with the further details however they are completely insensitive and aren’t willing to accommodate you in any way. My first visit I waited over an hour, while I was in the waiting room I heard Darrow in the next room talking to her patient about her next vacation and what they will be doing. I’ve only been waiting an hour you’d think she would be attempting to be on time with her patients. Meanwhile, when she finally came in she rushed me outta there. Her office is a nightmare to deal with. Good luck trying to get an appointment! I pray you don’t have any emergencies because they WILL NOT help you."
