"I have been going to this office for over 10 years. It was always a professional and efficient office, enough for me to leave a 5 star review. Unfortunately, I have had such a poor experience now, I will never return. Not only did the "lab" break my glasses, it has been over 2 months and I still do not have what was ordered. I am a very understanding person, however, everytime I call I speak to someone who is rude and gives me excuses, blaming another office. The worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. I am completely disappointed, and will not return. Neither will my husband or the rest of my family. I will be sure to let everyone know whom I have already referred here to find another office. EDIT: Just found out they lied to me! Not only did my frames break but ny frames were discontinued! I was never getting a replacement!"
"The receptionist was very courteous and helpful when the time came to choosing my frames. The optometrist was extremely knowledgeable during her assessment and honest when interpreting the information I provided. Will definetely go back!"
"Please take note: This office is NOT handicapped accessible. The information is not listed on their website, nor was anything mentioned when making the initial appointment. After waiting 2 weeks for my appointment and completing all the required paperwork, I arrived at my scheduled appointment time only to find that I could not access the office. The office is located on the 2nd floor with no elevator in the building. There were 20 stairs. It was difficult enough for me to make the trip there, get out of me car and walk to the building, as 15 months ago a spinal cord injury/surgery left me partially paralyzed from the waist down. It was even more frustrating having to get back in the car and drive all the way home not having seen the doctor. Now I have to locate another eye doctor and wait a couple more weeks for an appointment. The one thing I learned is that in the future I will always ask new doctors if their buildings are handicapped accessible. Still, for those physicians who require patients to walk up at least a flight of stairs, they should at least note this on their website or ask the patient at the appointment scheduling if this presents a problem."
"My family and I have been under Dr. Bacaris' care for a very long time. We always have an outstanding experience. From making appointments to having our checkups, and then picking up glasses, it all goes easily and well. She is a knowledgeable and caring doctor. Her staff is friendly and helpful. We drive 40 miles east to LI Optometric Eyecare, and plan to continue doing so for years to come."
"My family has been seeing Dr. Bacaris since 2005. Each year we went for our annual exams and glasses. The last couple of visits we were not impressed. She seemed less than capable in meeting our families needs. For instance, our son broke his glasses 6 months after receiving them. Since my plan did not allow a free pair each year I would have to pay out of pocket for them. A friend of mine recommended an online site that you can get glasses cheap (a great place to pick up extra pairs for the kids) if you can get a script from the doctor. I called Dr. Bacaris and explained the situation and my attentions. She seemed ok with this and I made an appointment. When I came home from the exam to order the glasses online I was asked for a PD (Pupillary Distance). Having no idea what this was, I called Dr. Bacaris and she told me that this information is ONLY given to patients who order glasses through her and that I can go to an opthamologist and get that information. Seriously? She knew what my intentions were BEFORE I made the appointment and the only reason I was ordering online was because the glasses I bought from her were of an inferior quality and broke within the first year. Her demeanor towards me was condescending and rude. On another occasion I had taken my daughter to for an eye exam. I was told her eye sight was fine. My daughter had an in school exam and it was suggested to see an eye doctor for glasses. We had just had the appointment with Dr. Bacaris. So we made another appointment which was not covered by my insurance and low and behold my daughter now needs glasses. Her explanation was that children's eye change very rapidly and hers could change as much as they did in a very short period of time (2 months). Maybe, maybe not. Finally, I had my exam and when it came to getting my eyes check for glaucoma, she flat out refused stating that I had narrow-end glaucoma and she cannot help me and to see a opthamologist instead. I made my appointment preparing for this test since my eyes would be dilated and now she tells me I have a condition that I do not have. She had given me this procedure in the years prior and never said that she had concerns and to follow up with a medical professional. As a result, three strikes and you're out rule, I lost faith in her ability to properly care for my family's eyes. I suggest that you do your own research before making your decision because maybe I just had an unfortunate experience with her but then again maybe not."
