"I had two WONDERFUL nurses caring for me today, I didn’t get the first nurse’s name because it was a bit of a hectic situation but she was so kind and lovely, and Laura B is such a sweetheart and made sure I was comfy while I waited, and had everything I needed. She also made sure to update me on the situation and my lab results as often as she could. Given how busy they were, I was surprised to have such a smooth visit! Wait times are always crazy at the ER and they can’t control that, but I do want to thank the staff & especially Laura for putting me at ease and making this much less stressful than it could have been and a big thanks to y’all for showing up to work and doing what you do, I know it’s ROUGH"
"The emergency room is run like an underfunded inner city facility. Trash left on the bed, blood droplets on the floor from another patient, very little attention paid to patients, overcrowding, very tight quarters. We were there 7 hours for something that should have taken 2 hours at most."
"My husband was admitted with chest pains on a Friday and tests were performed Saturday and Sunday. Thankfully it wasn't anything serious. Thought the doctors were very thorough, we always use st. Catherine's."
"Left me terrified and confused, was half conscious and too weak to stand (had Covid) while they forced me to get up and walk across a room, left DIRTY GLOVES and GARBAGE on my bed. EXPOSED ME (18 at the time, female) to an older male patient and left me to sit half conscious COMPLETELY ALONE in the room with him; and eventually checked me out of the system before evacuating me from the room making it a struggle for my mother to find me and help me out as I hadn’t stood upright or even walked by myself in over a week. All this to only get IV fluids because of nausea from COVID. EXTREMELY traumatic and upsetting, I am now terrified of hospitals and doctors after the way they treated me when I was too sick to protect myself. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent."
"Avoid at all cost. No triage nurse anywhere to be found. Couldn’t get anyone to even look at my 17 month old with a head injury. Staff didn’t care at all. Multiple people in the waiting room advised me to leave immediately and go elsewhere, that we would unlikely even see a nurse for 10 hours. This place is an embarrassment to first world medicine. We left and went to Stony Brook where my daughter was seen immediately and the medical staff were appalled at what we experienced at St. Catherine’s."
