Dr. Jamorabo's journey in medicine began with a cum laude degree in Chemistry from Williams College in 2008. His dedication to global health issues was underscored by his selection as a Fulbright Scholar, where he explored heroin addiction and rehabilitation resources in Kenya from 2009 to 2010. He subsequently earned his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2014.
Dr. Jamorabo's clinical training includes an internal medicine internship at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center, followed by a residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson. He further honed his skills during a gastroenterology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. In 2020, Dr. Jamorabo joined the esteemed faculty of the Department of Medicine at Stony Brook Medicine.
His research interests focus on addressing sex and racial inequities within medicine, as well as practice management. Dr. Jamorabo is an active participant in several national gastroenterology associations and serves as a reviewer for multiple medical journals. His contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Outstanding Research Award in Practice Management and the Presidential Award from the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Jamorabo is dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, as evidenced by his involvement with the American College of Gastroenterology's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. He is also a part of the Young Physician Leadership Scholars Program and serves on the Editorial Board of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
