"Great dr"
"Dr. Ng has been my primary care doctor since Dr. Yellon retired, I have found her to be very thorough and competent in all our dealings alway concerned about my health risks and on several occasions she has called my personally to discuss aspects of my care."
"I am so disappointed in this doctor and what used to be the best group of practices on this side of the Island. She just didn't listen, she was speedy like she had just swallowed a 6 pack of red bull, she cut me off every other word with a "right right" or "fair enough." Not sure if she was rushing, but that's how I felt. I came in with dizziness and a headache localized to the right side. I have a bad tooth and on the inside of my gum adjacent that tooth I had developed a sore that was painful. Did she listen, not at all. I know my body and I've had enough infections to know when there is one present. No one took my temperature, she looked at the tooth quickly, not the possible abscess. She felt around my face, and tried to refer me to imaging for an xray of my face. When that didn't work, she gave me an urgent consult referral to the dentist. I had told her that I didn't have a dentist, it was hard to find a new one that took my insurance- didn't seem to hear that either. I asked for an antibiotic and you would have thought I asked for percocet. Fast forward 2 days, no call from the dentist she referred me.to and no phone number on the referral. Face hurts, sore is getting bigger and I'm upset. I call the office and ask to have an antibiotic called in, express my displeasure with my visit and go ahead and ask what dentist I was referred to. Their clinic, which is a whole other story. The day goes by with calls to and from the primary care office- Dr. NG Isn't in today and for whatever reason, asking another doctor was taboo. Finally at 5:30, her nurse calls again, Dr. Ng wants me to go to the emergency room if the pain is that bad, so they can get imaging. What is this womans obsession with xray, it's amoxicillin. Isn't the goal to keep our patients out of the ED? Isn't the goal as primary care to prevent something from worsening to the point where it needs emergency intervention. Btw I've been told by the same practice that I was pre diabetic years ago. I told this woman I have been having a problem with one of my feet when I go from sitting to standing- she told me I may be flat footed and I should try aspartame. Not a word about going and having glucose tested or any indication that she even opened my chart. What a joke this hospital is becoming. Very sad UPDATE: I never got a chance to update this, but a week or so after this review Dr. Ng did call me personally to apologize for the way I felt the visit went, as well as take time to explain why she did the things she did and didn't do some of the things I felt she should have. She had her office call to make an appointment to bring me back in to see her and I did. She took her time and she listened and gracefully handed me off to another doctor. I won't say I was wrong for how I felt as a patient, but understanding from a business prospective the strain that is put on doctor's, I'll say we all have moments when we aren't at our best. I respect her for taking the time to personally address the issue, the office manager as well."
