As an intensivist and consulting pulmonologist at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) since 2011, Dr. Diaz brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his patients.

A proud graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and lifelong Staten Island resident, Dr. Diaz has an impressive educational and professional background. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center and further honed his skills with advanced training in surgical critical care medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by a pulmonary/critical care fellowship at Stony Brook University Medical Center.

Dr. Diaz is renowned for his leadership in RUMC's lung screening program, one of New York City's most advanced initiatives for early detection of lung cancer. With early detection, up to 90% of lung cancers can be cured, and Dr. Diaz is passionate about providing this life-saving service to the community.

In addition to his work in pulmonology, Dr. Diaz is a key member of RUMC’s Post COVID-19 Care Center, which opened in June 2021. This center provides comprehensive care for COVID-19 patients, offering a multidisciplinary approach that includes experts in pulmonary care, cardiology, infectious disease, and more. Dr. Diaz's leadership has been instrumental in treating and supporting the recovery of over 1,500 COVID-19 patients.

Beyond his roles at RUMC, Dr. Diaz also supports the Fire Department of the City of New York, aiding firefighters in recovering from 9/11-related diseases.
