Reviews of University Behavioral Health Care at Newark (Rutgers Health)
"No one ever picks up the phone, if you miss an appointment you get in so much trouble. But if you try to get a hold of someone, it’s nearly impossible."
"Terrible service. Initial receptionist I called to set up an appointment with over the phone with was nice. I did an intake and was told even though I already have a therapist I have to use one of their own for medication management which is understandable but why tell someone to cancel therapy with someone they like and have already made a connection with. After that I was sent to a prescriber who claimed to never receive any of my information or notes from my initial intake. She didn’t even know the name of the person who did my intake. I was told to take the recommended medication but when I asked for more information about what it was I was brushed off as if it wasn’t that serious. Next I was scheduled with their recommended therapist who canceled on me the morning of our appointment because she was apparently not in the office at all. I saw many red flags and decided to stay away. Super unprofessional behavior. I will be going somewhere else."
"This place was extremely toxic. My friend went to the inpatient system and came back terrified. Staff slammed things in her face, and other patients were extremely rude to her. Staff members didn't stop them at all and constantly blamed her. I would not suggest this for people who are sensitive or have PTSD. Though the experience wasn't great, my friend did get the type of help she was looking for. Staff took care of the patients for the most part, but they didn't listen at all. If you need a 3-5 day visit, this is the place."
"This place is a S.H.I.T SHOW! THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A NUMBER LISTED IT TOOK MONTHS FOR MY SON TO GET AN APPOINTMENT HE WENT FOR ONE DAY to the day program for kids and TRANSPORTATION DIDNT SHOW THEY CALL AND SAY HE NEEDS A HIGHER LEVEL OF TREATMENT BECAUSE HE MISSED ONE APPOINTMENT DUE TO TRANSPORTATION not showing up NOBODY WANTS To Do THEIR job anymore!!! This is insane its kids out here suffering and u can't even get them the help they need!!! DO BETTER!!!"
"The only reason this place gets 3 stars is Dr Taha. I love her and she is so positive, helpful and kind. She is excellent. Like many other people have mentioned, the front desk is never available, I’m constantly running out of my medication because I can not get in contact with my provider. I’ve been in the SAME MEDICATION FOR 5 YEARS and hey ABSOLUTELY REFUSE. To write me a 90day script and are always trying to change my medication. It’s frustrating. I have bipolar type 1. I can’t keep going on and off my medication like this, it’s dangerous for me. If I had better insurance I’d go somewhere else but unfortunately this is one of the only metal health clinics that will take state insurance."
