Reviews
"Dr Pollack and his front office were wonderful! So happy to find a primary care provider who’s a keeper!"
"I do not leave reviews often, but I felt compelled to after my experience here. My insurance is supposed to fully cover my visit, minus the copay. This is why I chose his office to begin with. I had a virtual session and spoke with Dr. Pollak for no more than 20 minutes, where he recommended an over the counter remedy and another doctor in the area for a separate issue. No meaningful information was pulled from our conversation. I come to check my insurance and discover a large insurance claim he billed to me. From reading other reviews, it seems he is comfortable with insurance fraud and lying to insurance companies over what was discussed. I do not recommend this man/office. Find somewhere else, and check reviews before."
"Showed up well over an hour late for an appointment late in the afternoon. Was trying to get me out the door as soon as possible, and didn't even close the exam room door for my visit. Not only that, but charged me and my insurance insane amounts for the visit while he didn't even do anything. The statement for my visit mentioned things that didn't even happen, (for example, part of my charge was obesity counseling which certainly was never part of the visit). Do yourself a favor and never go to this doctor. Michael Pollak was far and away the worst doctor I have ever encountered. Avoid at all costs, it really seems like a scam, and I am still trying to get my money back."
"I tried to make an appointment today, while in pain. Strange system - you call and get to "leave a message" with the surgery reception. Seems like you are talking to them, but you're still "leaving a message." When they can be bothered, they will get back to you. I decided to make my appointment on ZocDoc instead. Went fine. Then I get a call from the surgery. First they say first time patients have to have a phone consult first (because obviously that is going to solve your problems - being asked if you're actually unwell). Next, when I insisted on an in person appointment, they informed me they didn't take my insurance (Empire Plan) - despite advertising that they do on Zoc Doc. I would recommend not bothering? I know this is America and it's less about helping people than it is about the $$$ but if I am going be charged to be healthy I would at least like the surgery to be remotely competent, and not have misleading advertising. Can't speak to the doctor, of course - I never got to see him."
"I have been a patient of Dr. Pollak’s for over 4 years and I would travel from anywhere in New Jersey to continue to see him. He starts with gathering all of the information he needs to understand why you are there. He always has another female in the room with him when he is seeing me (I am a female patient). He is extremely professional and he then works on the best diagnosis, treatment and gives sound medical advice. He follows up with his patients after their Appointments, he always calls to check in and I have never had a bad experience in his office. So what if the office is outdated and he has a different approach. He’s a very intelligent and I am glad he’s my PCP."
