Reviews of Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital : Emergency Room
"I take my mom here and everyone is friendly. This hospital gets a bad rap from their past. Mt. Vernon needs this hospital so the people in Mt.Vernon should be doing what they can to keep it in Mt.Vernon. The doctors are knowledgeable about her condition and what they can’t handle they send her to their colleagues at the Bronx location."
"The attention is horrible. All stuff just talk about they on life, how they day was , problems and bla bla bla,,, and the only answer they tell you and you asking about the situation like 3 hours ago , they say you have to wait.. they don’t give you more attention after the first step. It is inhuman the way they acting. We need stuff more responsible and try to give you the faster results."
"My mother had a hysterectomy here and thank god for the wonderful woman who is her doctor. However the treatment of my mother by PACU nurse and the communication to me was HORRIBLE. No one came out to me to give me any update on my mother. I managed to stop her doctor who was surprised by this notion nonetheless she “tried” to take me to her in the PACU. The nurse there immediately started screaming at me and the doctor to get out. I explained to her that no one had updated me on anything I just wanted to make sure she was okay. But the nurse wouldn’t listen and kept screaming for us to get out. And it gets worse. After she successfully kicked me and the doctor out. She was loudly bragging to her son on the phone what she had done. How do I know? She woke my mother up with her loud screaming and her phone call. She didn’t even bother to check on my mother as she was laying there awake in extreme pain! Furthermore, if I wasn’t standing in the hallway no one would have notified me that my mother was being moved to the floor. I just happened to be there when they started putting her in the elevator. I honestly thought Montefiore would do better with this hospital as before they took over this place a nightmare zone."
"I visit this place last Night around 12:30 the stuff in front desk so unprofessional. The guy who helped me was on his phone and having a very nice conversation with another to co-workers laughing while I was with a lot of pain and bleeding!!! They didn’t do anything to help me. How can an emergency room be like that. I ended leaving to another place cuz they didn’t care my pain."
"Worst ER and hospital there is.. so sad to live so close to it thinking they would be fast to attend. I feel really bad for the security and reception because they are the sweetest. Doctors and nueses don’t know what they’re doing. Broke my foot months back and it took 8 hours to just wrap me up. My mother came in a week ago with a finger hanging off and it took for her to ask for medication to help with the pain after 1 HOUR. From 7pm on a Monday, waited there for 4 hours to just hear she needed a transfer to another montefiore, surgeon was “waiting for her” , soon as we made it to the other ridiculous hospital, we left at 6:45 AM Tuesday. Montefiore has gone downhill, please do not go here no matter what the emergency is. Make the longer trip somewhere else. PLEASE. Security and reception better be making good money because they deserve it. Doctors and nurses, need to humble themselves, be thoughtful of patients’ needs, and stop eating every 30 minutes and being rude. Oh and also, stop telling us the place is packed when there’s no one but them."
