"Took my 9year old special needs son here with an open wound and was left sitting in the waiting area about 2 hours without anyone even taking a look at his wound. I asked how much longer until anyone looks at him they said they dont know because they are busy but everyone was just sitting on their phones doing nothing ."
"I had the dubious fortune of needing to visit the ER three times in three weeks due to complications following surgery at one of Manhattan’s major hospitals. My first visit was at 3:30AM in agonizing pain and I was seen immediately after some basic paperwork. The second time was during the afternoon and it was busier, but just about a 20 minute wait. The third time was in the evening, about a 10 minute wait and resulted in my being admitted to the hospital for a 5 day stay, I’m being discharged today. Each time at the ER, the entire staff treated me with kindness and compassion, and I received wonderful medical care. The doctors and nurses took the time to really listen and figure out the needed treatment. I recently move near St John’s from Manhattan, and this was a very different experience from the big ERs in the city, which have been a nightmare when I needed them. I have also been receiving wonderful care as an inpatient. Healthcare workers are true heroes, and I see many patients treating them rudely. Treat them with the kindness they deserve, and you might just find that they go the extra mile for you too. I couldn’t possibly individually thank the dozens of medical providers in the ER, they were all fabulous. Special shout out to Violetta, the woman who checked me in two of the three times and always gave me a warm smile and reassuring wish for a return to better health."
"I went here and all they tried to do was give me meds which didn’t solve my problem. I still have the pressure in my knee and the gave me a referral which earliest appointment in Feb 20, 2024. I still have the pain and pressure.. What the point going to hospitals anymore they don’t care to help, they just care about the money, I didn’t see what one person with empathy for any of the patients in the waiting room. We can’t even turn to hospital anymore it’s so sad to see what the world as become so inhumane to people. My pain is still a 8 and I have insurance but no one bordered to take and actually look at my knee."
"This place staff is the problem. had I read the reviews I would of never came here but we did and it was not a good experience I went out for some air and was told visiting hours was over when I came back in but my sick baby was inside with her dad then finally I get let in and now we we’re getting treated like we couldn’t leave my husband is diabetic and had not eaten so I tell the nurse they left us there for another hour and a half (ps we couldn’t leave because they have given my baby an iv bag it was the worst ) just to think that my husband could’ve went into a diabetic shock or coma all while I could barely find a staff member that wasn’t security is horrible the doctor we had looked over worked and confused"
"This hospital has been a horrible experience for me. Waiting 5+ hours for results in the ER, with the doctor giving attitude for me asking how much longer. The floor is dirty, there is no check in from the doctors/nurses & when it is time to do a procedure, the doctor does not fully explain what's happening. This will be the last time I ever go to this hospital. They are in a need of a major overhaul and I hope it happens soon. People should not have to suffer here because of their unprofessionalism. I suggest to anyone reading this to go to any other hospital if you want actual care."
