"Great experience with Dr. Dz-saw her in her office and sought her out after she moved. Practical, realistic approach to wellness."
"Edit one year later: I wanted to add an update to this post. About a year after this upsetting appointment with Dr. D I was pointed to a rheumatologist outside of the Valley Health Network (a network I likely won’t go back to because I find them to be an incredibly flawed system, either in their technology—note sharing, which I sincerely believe is wrong for a patient and their physician in certain circumstances—or their hiring of doctors). This doctor ran a ton of tests, listening to my symptoms that had been disabling me for YEARS, and with test results was able to make a diagnosis of having the autoimmune disease Sjögren’s. That doctor saved my life. I am doing A MILLION times better now, and had to go through almost thirty doctors to find the one that would dig just a little deeper and think just a little more outside of the box. I always trusted Dr. D as a physician. And I do think she is a good doctor. Prior to having a hard to diagnose disease, she had always been incredibly caring, straight, and thorough. I cannot think for her, or assume, but my symptoms were likely incredibly frustrating in their obscurity. It doesn’t give an excuse to the way she treated me on my last visit with her. I will always have trauma from doctors, even her, that reacted to my issues and treated me this way: mentally ill/dismissive. But she was only one in a long line of many, and in the beginning, I do believe she was trying very hard to figure me out. Either way, I wanted to update this for patients to say that I did indeed have an underlying issue causing my chronic illness, and she had a very hard time diagnosing it, and eventually, having compassion. _______________________________________________________ I am sad to say that I have ended my patient/doctor relationship with Dr. D. I had been seeing her for many years, probably over 10. However, a few years ago, I got very sick and have ventured into the world of chronic illness, I'm still unwell to this day. This doesn't seem like a good fit for this doctor. I had not seen her in almost two years, and recently went in to reestablish myself, to try and get to the bottom of what is going on with my body. I thought we were having a really good visit. We were laughing, I cried a bit--because I've been under extreme stress from being ill for so long--and I thought I left on a good note. The next day, she put my notes in the computer, and it read more like a psychiatric evaluation than an appointment with my doctor to discuss my very real (that even she iterated to me) physical symptoms. I was upset and offended by this, and messaged her to ask why she wrote a note about recommending I go out and tutor people as opposed to noting, perhaps, that I'm still having severe headaches and somewhat severe chronic sinusitis. She even said in the message back to me that my, "headaches were a huge problem." Yet this wasn't on my notes. What was on my notes was that I seemed, "fixated." What a way to sabotage any and all medical help I may possibly be able to get by painting me like a hypochondriac. Her message to me was irate and, in my opinion, crossing a line of patient/doctor ethics. She told me I said I was, "sick one too many times," and went on to write a poem about how many times I said I was sick: "once would be enough, twice would be a problem, but you said you were sick 50 times." It was so completely ridiculous and dishonest. I'm actually worried about *her* mental status. Unless you have a very easy or obvious problem, I would steer clear. If you have a chronic illness and are struggling to find a good doctor. I feel for ya. Keep going and stick up for yourself."
"I also have been going to Dr D for quite a few years, and adore her. She gets tough with you (really tough) when you need a good swift kick in the pants, but you can see she really cares and wants to keep her patients healthy. She is very knowledgeable and keeps up with the literature. Dr D will sit with you as long as you need her to discuss your issues. She is never hurried or rushed, trying to move on to the next patient. She has been fairly spot on throughout my treatments. She contacts you at all hours, so you can see she puts in the OT to keep up with her work. She refills meds and doesn’t unreasonably demand that you in to get a refill, like other Docs do (just to make money from your office visit). In my opinion, she is a top GP. I’m glad I found her and had her in my medical life."
"I've been going to Dr. Dzenowski for years. She's a wonderful Doctor, kind and caring, with a good old fashioned "put the patient first" attitude. She spends time with me at my annual checkup and questions me on everything. I have Asthma and when it is cold season, she makes sure I have what I need to deal with it. In a time when Doctors are more concerned about turning a profit, she still puts the patient first. I'm very grateful to her for her kindness and for helping me work through the stress I was under at work as well as other health issues that I've had from time to time. You couldn't find a more caring, sensible, grounded Doctor. I'm so grateful for her."
