Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway: Emergency Room

"I use Robert Wood Johnson as my E.R. of choice. There are at least four others near my home. RWJ at Rahway is well staffed. The people working there are qualified, the attitude is friendly and helpful. The doctors and nurses are skilled and trustworthy. I read a lot of things on the internet about hospital emergency rooms. I can honestly, from my experience, say that I can't attribute any of those negative statements to Robert Wood Johnson at Rahway emergency room."

"This was my first emergency room visit after moving to the area 2 years ago and I'm glad to say it was a good one! The staff was all friendly and competent. The service was great. Only my second time ever in an emergency room but glad to now be familiar for a reliable one in the area."

"I have mixed feelings about this place. The person that did my registration was super nice and caring seeing as though I was in a ton of pain. The nurse took me to the back really quick. However, I then had to wait 30-45 mins to see the doctor- maybe due to a shift change. Once the doctor came by I had to wait additional time for a nurse to be assigned to me. The nurse was kind and did everything she could to make me comfortable. I hated that I had to sit in a chair in the hallway for 5 hours, but I understand that beds are for more serious cases. Ultimately, I had been misdiagnosed at an urgent care the day prior. The ER doctor was thorough. He got down to the bottom of the problem and I left feeling much better than when I came in."

"Over all the surgery and surgery staff were exceptional! My review is really regarding the front desk. Since this is the first impression you get of the hospital, I think the executive team should really evaluate the process. Dr. Mina Abdeshahid performed a total reverse shoulder replacement here and the pre-surgery check in was a bit dragged out. The front reception desk was a bit disorganized considering there was very little activity that day. Unfortunately the front desk let us leave without getting a much needed test in order to begin surgery as scheduled. If it weren't for Dr. A's office calling to check in we would have had to reschedule and begin the process all over! After 2 trips to and from and with the above all out of the way...the 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ are for the 2 offices after the front check in. Wonderful staff, tests were seamless and we were finally given all the info we needed!! On the plus side....I personally loved the PRIDE pride!!! Yay to Robert Wood for openly celebration diversity!"
