Health Center at Bloomingdale

"At the age of 66, having fallen and broke my leg and shoulder, I chose here to go for rehab because it was close for my family That was the worse decision I could of made. Having to use a bed pan, I called for help and on numerous times, especially midnight shift, waited no less than 30 minutes for help. Then greeted with an attitude, call bell taken and left on it after the door was slammed. There was one aide named Chris that was by far the best. Not one aide except Chris ever even cleared me after using the bed pan. The aides that I encountered during my stay were horrible and wouldn't wish them in anyone. I was there for therapy, and have all my facilities, and it was pure hell on a daily basis. I asked a question about why nobody could us, and the aide said they were on break, all of them at the same time? I would never ever suggest this horrible place to anyone"

"Don’t send your loved ones here. The care is sub par and not enough time is spent checking on elderly patients. As such, my aunt fell out of bed days after hip surgery. I tried to talk to management but she hid in her office until I found her. Some of the staff was nice but many were rough. A dismal place. No need to write a response."

"The staff are kind. They do their best to make my friend (resident) comfortable. Unfortunately they are constantly short staffed so they cannot offer the care that the patients need. As of late, they have been falling short on their quality of care. If there’s no staff there’s no care. The staff are exhausted and the residents aren’t being attended to in a timely fashion. The OWNER needs to be aware. They need to get a better staff to resident ratio. Update as of 5/5/2024 Things have not changed. The care is inadequate and I have seen a lot of mistakes being made in the care process. Mistakes happen but the disgusting aspect is that they all deny the problems and try to sweep the truth under the rug. I want to give a good review but I can’t."

"Elderly neglect. My mother was told to just go in her diapers, too short of staff to get her to commode. Staff ignores call button and will tell you that their to busy to answer. They will not pick up nurses station phone. Many of times my mother would call me crying because she was in pain and nobody would respond so I would get on a conference call and we BOTH would try to call. ALOT of times there was no answer. I was close to doing a wellness check via police because even the receptionist couldn't get an answer. Do not send your love one here."

"Care in every detail of my 21/2 week stay for rehab of fractured vertebrae in my spine was above and beyond anything I had anticipated. Nursing care was careful and thoughtful, particularly Daemon. Food was excellent with personal care one on one from kitchen staff. The PT staff and equipment used to increase my mobility was above and beyond ! I would like to mention Margaret in particular, but all who helped me were excellent too. I live at Cedar Crest, but was sent to Bloomingdale as there was no room in Cedar Crest rehab when I needed it. I could have returned to Cedar Crest after three days, but I chose to continue at Bloomingdale until I was ready to return to my apartment so as not to lose the continuity of care I was receiving. I thank you in every way!"
