Nestled at 81 Main Street, we are proud to offer an extensive selection of gently used books across a multitude of genres. Whether you're interested in local Long Island history, young adult adventures, children's tales, fiction, non-fiction, self-help, or more specialized subjects like science, nature, art, architecture, sports, and cooking, you'll find it here at unbeatable prices.
As one of the South Shore's largest book inventories, we invite you to explore our vast collections, all reasonably priced to ensure everyone can find their next great read. We accept payments via cash, check, and Venmo, but please note that we do not accept credit or debit cards.
At Ketcham Inn Book Barn, all our books are generously donated, as we operate as a not-for-profit fundraiser. Every purchase helps support the restoration of five heritage properties in the Moriches area.
Our seasonal hours are Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, from April through December. During the winter months, we open on days when the weather is mild and dry. Please refrain from making donations during inclement weather.

With a great eye for special books and a love of history, this place is just filled with rare and collectible items.. We spent an entire afternoon looking at just the children’s books.. There’s so much to choose from here.. All the classics, many newer material and some really obscure but cool books.. I could go on and on because there’s just a huge selection of books to explore and choose from.. The staff here is very helpful and has a deep love for books and literature so they’re willing to help you find something specific or answer any questions..
