Welcome to the Avram Theater, a cultural landmark nestled in the heart of Southampton, New York. Since the 1980s, our 429-seat venue has been a cherished site for an array of artistic events, including captivating readings, dynamic dance and musical recitals, enchanting operas, and compelling theater productions. We are also proud hosts of Pianofest, a series of concerts featuring internationally-acclaimed classical musicians.
In September 2007, the Avram Theater underwent a significant renovation, thanks to the generous multi-year gift from Dr. Morrell Avram and his wife, Maria, who have been long-time patrons of the arts. This restoration has allowed us to continue our mission of fostering artistic expression and cultural enrichment.
Each July, the Avram Theater opens its doors for selected evenings during the renowned Southampton Writers Conference, providing a stage for literary brilliance. We are also home to the Young American Writers Project play festivals, held each December and March, showcasing the talent and creativity of emerging playwrights.
