"Called regarding a dog posted. Very unfriendly person took the call. Hard to get any info out of. One word answers. Big pauses when I asked questions, then again, rude, one word answers. Was not even sure he was still on the line. Then he just hung up as I was trying to say goodby."
"Required us to license a foster dog even tho foster dogs do not require licenses, and then told us the cost was $50 cash- when we arrived to get our foster dog, somehow it changed to $60 cash requiring us to leave and go take more money out. Jumped through hoop after hoop just to recover a fully vaccinated, healthy dog which we had proof of ownership for. Highly recommend not bringing dogs to this location if you find one."
"Called today twice after I called Amherst police looking for my dogs. 4/29 first time at 5:08 and second time at 5:30. I spoke to a gentleman was very rude I asked them information about a dog I reported lost and Amherst police said they sent to them. On 3/26 (I have been posting and calling the SPCA for over 2 months now) I got a call from a friend who said they seen my white male wolf dog on a found website who ten sent me to Amherst police and so on. The guy who answered said right away no we don't have your dog. Didn't look or anything said he knows that he doesn't have it then said he has a husky dog that the police must have mistaken. I called police and spoke to the one who filed the report and he said no it was all white. Called back to the shelter same guy answered and his story changed. And then said that yes he got this dog but he knows for a fact that it's not mine! Said someone claimed him I asked what info they had for this dog he said this dog was old not yours. I never told him the age of my dog. I have vet bills medicine records and photos to show for my dog. I asked if I could just walk through just to make sure. He hung up on me. This guy needs to be fired. There is something wrong here. If my dog was giving away to the wrong person I will file a police report."
"The experience I've had with trying to get help with attack dogs while trying to walk my daughter to the school bus stop is nothing but a joke. I was repeatedly told, "there are many other places in Clarence for you to live, move." I'm completely floored. Whoever answers the phone and claims to be in charge today (4/25/2016 at 3:03pm) is the rudest most insulting stranger I've ever encountered in my life while simply trying to get some help with safety for my family."
"We got our dog from here. The animal control officer could not have been nicer and we spent a good amount of time with the dog the first day and then came back the next day with our other dog. We are so glad to have found another member of our family."
